O čem je toďten plk: Re: Backgammon Board Orientation
If you play on a real board, one player bears off to his bottom right and the other to his bottom left since one player goes clockwise and the other anti-clockwise. This is fairly easy to get used to. The problem here is bearing off from the top of the board which you never do normally.
Rob310's Dad and stepmom were killed in a auto accident in fla. yesterday, and he left all his gamesites, and doesn't know if and when he will be back. I wish him and his famly my deepest sympathy.
his games will all time out. i know he's in the spider tourn., i thought Fencer might need to know this.
O čem je toďten plk: Re: Backgammon Board Orientation
I have to agreee i am very confused playing gammon here.. one turn i veer off to the top left another bottom right.. i think.. anywho if we could have a setting so that we always veer off to the bottom right i think it would be easier to play.. other players have said the same thing to me.. I have no idea if this would be hard to program in to the game or not.. if so then Im sorry for asking for it :-)
Now that the obvious Back/Nackgammon bugs have been sorted out, can we do something about this. As far as I can make out the boards for backgammon and all the variations are upside down for both players. ie The 2 backmen (4 for Nack) start on your own side of the table instead of your opponents side as they should. The boards shown to each player just need to be swapped over so that White would see what Black sees now and vice versa. This would make life a lot easier. Thanks.
hrlqns.....thanks for your help. It was greatly appreciated. Like.....Duhhhhhh.....should have looked their first. Blonde moment I guess! LOL Thanks again! :)
It seems to be changing, but the dice are really difficult to see.I'm on webtv..Another game, backgammon, opponent and I decided to give it up,he sent draw offer,I got five with different times, only game I had with this fellow..
Im sure this site will just keep growing, its only a couple of months ago , you had typically 6-8 people online playing at the same time..right now ..: 68!!
I think this site has come through it's first major test. With the large number of extra games that the tourney's have generated, I have not noticed a sign of the site slowing down! I hope as the number of people playing at this site increases, Which it certainly will, the site reamains as fast.
Several bugs~One is we're moving opposite to every other site, would like to be able to reverse board.
In game no.#17274 I just had double fives, moved from space 24 to space 18~six spaces instead of five,,also it wouldn´t let me move from space 6 to space 1,and take his white pip in one...There appears to be a bug as I noticed this in my other game also, unable to make legal moves all the time.
Just wondering how the BKR's are totaled for the match games? I've won some games but they are not showing up on my BKR's and I'm still trying to find somewhere that explains how it all works. Thanks for any help and I'm sorry if it's on here and I just haven't found it yet. :)
Fencer...Im using IE. Im only a newbie here but must congratulate you on a great site :) I was at IYT and it is down all the time and it is very annoying...I have recommended you to all I know at IYT.......congrats and keep up the good work.
Would it be too much trouble to put the "Show On-line Opponents" at the top of the page instead of having to click on the "Who is on-line" and then clicking on the "Show On-line Opponents"? This would make things alot quicker for us that have a webtv and may be easier for the computer users as well. I usually don't care much about who is on-line unless I am looking for someone on-line to play a game with at that moment.
Now you have to remember that I am a very busy Mother of 3 and I am very active in my childrens lives at the moment. I have just NOW noticed where you can set your days off for the week on the game boards has changed drastically! Here's another plus towards membership! LOL We are starting a new season of gymnastics with my daughter and we travel quite a lot from month to month. So, this is awesome for the competitions that keep us out of town for a couple of days! As for the vacation days.....membership level would be awesome! But for now I'm saving the 5 days for her National competition in South Dakota this summer. She has been playing on here as well and it would benefit her too. She has met some really nice people here. I would have to say this is a thumbs up for the kids (with supervision). Fencer......what an awesome job you are doing here! Congrats! :)
I learnt to play backgammon with the board this way round...however most online sites seem to have it the opposite..perhaps I should take advantage of everyones confusion here?? LOL
Ellie, if you go onto the game it should have a 'delete game' button at the bottom. There is no penalty if it is deleted at the start of the game. Its not counted towards ratings or anything :o)
What you say about bearing off is true. However normally you both bear off from your side of the board. At the moment we are bearing off from the opponent's side of the board. This is like starting a game and then swapping seats with your opponent.
