rod03801: :-) It's good to be back, thankyou ! Had forgotten how addictive it was though !!! And it was obvious once you'd told me where to look .. couldn't see it for looking ;-D

Niki: Of course if you meant Fellowship discussion boards, you can remove those from the "Favorite Boards" list the same way. However, those discussion boards will still show up in the "Fellowships" list, just below the "favorite boards" list. The only way you can remove those on THAT list, is to leave the fellowship.
O čem je toďten plk: Re: favourite boards question
Niki: I can't think of any public boards that are not available to Pawns. (Except for Members Only board). However, any board you want to remove from your "Favorite Boards" list, is very easy. Go to the board, and slightly below the description of the board, you will see "remove from favourite boards". Just click that, and it will vanish.
Hi, sorry, this may be the wrong board, and a really obvious question .. I haven't been here for a very long time, though I was here right at the start :-) But it means I've forgotten how to do silly stuff, and just can't seem to find the answers anywhere .. how do I 'manage' my favourite boards now ? for example I wish to delete a board that I know longer have access to as I'm not a member (don't worry fencer, think I may be rectifying that soon ;-D)
MadMonkey: Although BrainKing contains many daemon processes, stalking in the depths of logical instructions and terminating ghosts in the machine, none of them is instructed to delete fellowship teams.
Fencer: If it was a Team we were part of, or had a reason to go and look at i would agree BUT i can see NO reason why Me or LB would even look at the 2 Teams involved, as they are not exactly the most popular ones here
To delete 2 separate Teams accidentally , which would include ticking the little box is VERY unlikely
rabbitoid: I believe Fencer too and I am sure he is thinking about it...but if he thinks to long he might see the bird as the perfect member. Buy a forever membership then just drop in to update your vacation! Guy never complains or post annoying messages on the boards that Fencer has to deal with
Bernice: Actually the other person can still type in-game messages, but you won't see them if they are on your blocked user list. (So they may get "mad" when you don't answer.)
alexlee, Pedro Martínez: If Fencer said it is not going to last long, I believe him. He's been successful in closing loopholes before. Thanks for keeping it alive
Resher: Game length achievements regardless of the game just don't make much sense. Many games cannot even be finished after 10 moves (not taking resignments or draw offers into account), while for others it's impossible or unlikely to go beyond 10 moves.
For instance, having to take 10 guesses in Logic is a disgrace, but you won't be able to win a Halma 10x10 game in less than 10 moves.
But even if you make different game length achievements for different games, what to do with resignments? Surely, you don't want to give an achievement just for someone resigning early in the game; OTOH, you don't want people to get pissed at you for resigning a lost game (and they feeling bad for not getting some kind of achievement).
O čem je toďten plk: Re: just a little help please
DeaD man WalkiN: Ah, that seems more reasonable. Not sure about the number 10 though. 6 out my 27 games this year have finished in under 10 moves, so I'd suggest a target of 7 or 8 moves as a worthy achievement. My shortest game was a loss in 6 moves, but I'd rather forget that. (Bad loss)
O čem je toďten plk: Re: just a little help please
DeaD man WalkiN: I'd say in Hyper Backgammon, finishing a game in 10 moves or less is not that much of an achievement. I've played 29 games of HB, and 8 of those ended in 10 moves or less. So if it's supposed to be in line with the other achievements, the number should be set lower IMO.
Czuch: I presume you are talking about the Madhouse Poll i am running to see how many (if any) Brains people have here, so therefore if they can afford to enter Brain entry Tournaments.
Well after 88 people voted, this is how it stands:
I think Brain Tournaments are fun, as they give you something to aim for (whether you pay an entry or not). I remember when Fencer first started Tournaments here (WOW, that was a while ago lol) he ran a Prize one if i remember rightly, though i can not think if it was a Single player or Team one.
This should really go on Feature Request, but maybe it could get discussed here as it is about BrainKing itself, its structure, features and future
Lets find some more ways to acquire Brains that people can use for Memberships or entry to Tournaments and maybe even in the shop in future when it re-opens.
My first suggestion, is once every couple of months Fencer (or coan.net / Tanien) run a Prize Tournament. Maybe one game from each section. The prize does not have to be huge (50-100 Brains maybe), but it would be good to give those interested a target, and you could get a Achievement for winning one (or more site PRIZE Tournaments).
Anyway, that is my first idea and of course it is all up to Fencer.
I do not know about anyone else, but times are hard right now and going to get worse before they get better.
Would it not be great to play for a small Prize and maybe those who have nothing may get a little something for taking part
O čem je toďten plk: Re: just a little help please
DeaD man WalkiN: I don't suppose so in general. For example, all Cheversi games will be won in 8 moves exactly! There might be for some other games though, I suppose?
O čem je toďten plk: Re: just a little help please
DeaD man WalkiN: Since BrainKing.info is located somewhere in USA and has no direct connection to BrainKing's database, it would have to be manually updated each time I add new achievements. It's not worth the effort.
O čem je toďten plk: Re: just a little help please
Fencer: OK, thxs for the help. I was just hoping to have them all listed on BrainKing.info. So that way a person could see them all and not have to go through everyone of the little list.
O čem je toďten plk: Re: just a little help please
DeaD man WalkiN: You can find it at your Profile / Achievements page. Completed achievements are shown with a light background, other ones with a dark background.
