O čem je toďten plk: Re: Where is the outcry from the leftist here about greed, scientist would lie
Vikings: Right.. that makes no sense whatsoever. Inherent in my statement was the matter of all the propaganda you in America have been fed through out the cold war.
... hence "duped"
Business and a bought government (whichever side .. Dems or Repubs) that has been generated and fed to you guys since before you were born.. .. probably.
O čem je toďten plk: Re:97% to 98% of climate researchers (if not more) are paid by the government and climate interest groups to support and to advance the global warming hypothesis
Artful Dodger: You do have some proof of this? Some article or leak from an reputable source >>> not like Bush and his Fake WMD's <<<
As for Al Gore... that means everyone else is wrong because a politician beefed things up... Like those old WWII films stating the good old USA won the war purely by being the USA!!
Golly. How many politicians beef things up.... Or like with Palin stating that she ain't decided on whether she's running or not and please donate.
But her Daughter leaked by accident that she does know, it is decided.
O čem je toďten plk: Re:So.. can you personally prove the 97% wrong without changing the subject?
Artful Dodger: I know enough of chemistry to know that you cannot pollute or add to a closed environment (as in the atmosphere is covered by a vacuum) ....and have no effect.
It's amazing though that despite the banks and their recklessness that caused so much financial difficulty for our countries, that the right concentrate on some rubbish.
.. Oh wow.. the whole of Wall Street is at threat from a bit of rubbish. It's "The Stuff" all over again!!!!
O čem je toďten plk: Re: You're just mad cuz I pointed out your error. CIA is part of the government as is HS and DOF and others.
Artful Dodger: Maybe you missed some of the sarcasm regarding how the US 'foreign policy' is one of democracy, fairness and freedom.. while the CIA is one of murder, drugs and over throw any countries government we don't like.. or affects a companies profit margin.
I know they are from the same government, but that implies the American government has multiple personality problems!!
A Gallup poll from 2009 found ..."that 77% of non-publishing, non-climatological Earth Scientists and 97% of publishing Climatologists believed in human-driven climate change."
The Pew research centre found 84% of scientists believed in climate change, while only 49% of Joe Public believed so.
The Union of Concerned Scientists, which consists of about 250,000 members, state ..."we need to get serious and address this true, proven issue of climate change."
.. they even got serious and sent an email asking it's members to send this to Rupert Murdoch..
"As someone who has read your company's newspapers and watched your television shows and movies, I want to thank you for committing News Corporation to addressing the urgent issue of global warming and for pledging that the company will become carbon neutral by 2010.
Unfortunately, one of the biggest challenges we face today to adequately addressing global warming is coming from your employees.
Fox News show hosts, their guests, and Wall Street Journal columnists regularly misrepresent climate science and attack scientists. Often, they claim climate change itself is not real despite the overwhelming scientific evidence that it is. Allowing their fraudulent claims to go unchecked misleads your audience. This runs counter to News Corp.'s stated policy to "engage our audiences and enable them to find ways to reduce carbon emissions in their own lives."
Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Pete du Pont, and Kimberley Strassel among others, have all attacked the science behind global warming in media outlets owned by News Corp.--including Beck's outrageous claim that Arctic ice is increasing.
I am not entertained by outrageous statements and the misuse of science. Your paid commentators have the right to broadcast their opinions, but not to make up their own facts.
Please match your corporation's climate commitments to real action by ensuring all News Corporation programming get the facts straight."
>>>>>>>> which backs up what I said the other day to Art....
"I didn't say that they had no knowledge... bozos or people who put political ideology and money before reality.. yes. "

Artful Dodger: Which is what you've done with the 97%+ scientists who say Global warming is a reality. And if you cut the bull and go by votes on this matter.
You Lose.
"duh, the CIA is the government"
Ok.. then the US government supports terrorists, drug runners, murderers, etc.
Vikings: Does that include the virtually slave labour that is used to manufacture military equipment? 2 million sla... I mean prisoners now working for pennies.
O čem je toďten plk: Re:The function of the police state is to ensure that the rich stay rich and the working class stay working for the benefit of the rich. It is a form of police state socialism.
Übergeek 바둑이: I call it a modern form of the old feudal system. Just now the CEO's of corporations have replaced Lords and Dukes. There is no socialism in this.
O čem je toďten plk: Re:Isn't the CIa the government too?
Übergeek 바둑이: It is and it isn't. While the US government says drugs are illegal, the CIA are quite happy to allow drugs in to the USA that kill as long as 'goal A' is protected.
Now.. if that is the US government policy officially. Then it means that as long as 'goal A' is achieved it doesn't matter that US citizens die.
But we have to take into consideration private enterprise interference.
O čem je toďten plk: Re: No. YOu just tried to blow off the bloggers I read with personal attacks.

Artful Dodger: I didn't say that they had no knowledge... bozos or people who put political ideology and money before reality.. yes.
So? You've been saying that for a long time here. To say that you are the only person that is allowed to doubt the honesty of a posters sources is quite .... biased.
"Unless it can be proven that they paid someone to lie. Then it's a story."
Again then much of your 'proof' that climate change is a lie goes up in smoke.
"But the real story with climate change is that top scientists are defecting AWAY from the climate change hypothesis."
Nahhh I'd say that is those who say we cannot cause any climate change. Science is still unsure on a few things. I heard last week of neutrinos travelling faster than light....
... a few months back that E=MC2 is an empty statement.
Notorious climate skeptic Pat Michaels of the CATO Institute finally admitted openly on CNN this weekend that 40 percent of his funding comes from - wait for it - Big Oil.
DeSmogBlog readers have known for years about Michaels’ long-time association with a network of at least eleven think tanks and industry front groups funded by ExxonMobil. Many of these same outlets have received funding from other oil interests like the Koch Family Foundations.
Michaels’ admission that he receives around 40 percent - his guess - of his funding from Big Oil is important, because he is quoted widely in the media for his skepticism about manmade climate change. As the ExxonSecrets profile of Pat Michaels sums up well, he is “possibly the most prolific and widely-quoted climate change skeptic scientist.”
Fareed Zakaria deserves a round of applause for challenging Michaels directly to cough up a figure for how much oil money he receives to defend the status quo fossil fuel addiction and to confuse the public about the threat of climate change. Far too few journalists bother to ask that question, and Zakaria has sent a much needed reminder to journalists - it is your job to expose the potential conflicts of interest among your interviewees. Zakaria gets an A+ for outing Michaels’ oily funding.
O čem je toďten plk: Re: but at least my opinion has more reality behind it than the bloggers you frequent
Artful Dodger: Right... they have PhD's......
...... Ok.. but then again, anyone with a PhD that supports the theory that Global Warming exists, you say is wrong. So that makes you selective regarding whether you accept a boffins word or not dependant on your political bias.
If we are to accept on this board the word of those with PhD's... most of your views just fall flat on their face regarding the world of science, economics, social engineering, etc.
Especially with the volume of boffins that support views that you say nay to.
O čem je toďten plk: Re: Or since living outside the left/right divide in America your perspective is very limited. That'd get my vote.
Artful Dodger: Yes it would get your vote, but as mentioned before... that is only an opinion. If you've noticed, when it comes to long term disputes, you usually get an arbitrator from outside the two parties to act as an mediator.
Which makes me believe that your view is limited by being so deeply sided, like with many who are caught in this manufactured right/left divide in the USA. After so much paranoia over 'communism' and 'socialism' (just like with the USSR citizens would have experienced manufactured paranoia over capitalism) it would be logical that many Americans can't see the tree because of the forest.
O čem je toďten plk: Re: Easy to see unless you are blind.
Artful Dodger: Or... you have a different perspective that came about from living outside the left/right divide that people in America seem to enjoy busting their country with.
Yet.. when I watch the likes of "Celebrity Roast" .. people seem to be less touchy.
Artful Dodger: Well it does seem that some on the right are using race in reverse... Making out that any objections by the left are based on the race card to nullify and quieten down the left.. a kinda mental bullying.
It's reminds me of when Christian churches (past and present) use the '''DeViL''' as a means to bully people into non questioning their doctrines.
Artful Dodger: From what I've seen that's about standard from comes out his mouth.... Along with managing to get his website VDARE listed on the Southern Poverty Law Center's website as a "white nationalist hate group".
Poor Sky Sports.. it looks like (99.99% sure) that their monopoly on major sports coverage and the prices they charge (especially to pubs/clubs/hotels) is broken.
Thanks to Karen Murphy, a pub landlady who took her case to the European Court of Justice and won.
Now, cheap decoders and decoder cards from the EU can be used legally saving businesses thousands each year.
O čem je toďten plk: Re:That's your opinion, not a fact.
Pedro Martínez: Neither then is stating that the USA has not passed it's zenith. The conditions after WWII where most powers were rebuilding that gave the USA an edge are no longer applicable. The cold war is over. No side won.
As for Britain. Yep. WWII did that, but it would have come sooner or later anyway. History teaches as a fact that all empires rise and fall.
"Agustín Edwards Eastman, one of the wealthiest men in Chile at the time, played a critical role in convincing the U.S. to “lend a helping hand.” After Allende received 36.3% of popular vote in a three-way election and was chosen by the Chilean congress as president, Edwards almost immediately opposed him (Kinzer 170). Edwards consulted the U.S. ambassador to Chile to ask if the U.S. would “do anything militarily, directly or indirectly?”(Kinzer 170). After the ambassador (Edward Korry) rejected his request, Edwards went to the CEO of Pepsi-Cola, who had direct access to President Nixon.[citation needed] Edwards’ friend from Pepsi-Cola notified Nixon of the “problem” in Chile and from that point on, “he (Nixon) had been triggered into action,” as Henry Kissinger said.[citation needed] In addition, ITT offered up to $1 million dollars to support any action by the U.S. to oppose Salvador Allende.[citation needed] ITT had set up shop in Chile and was at risk because “the Chilean telephone system was high on Allende’s list for nationalization.”"
Nothing personal about the murders I guess.. 3000 murdered by the US installed dictator, many more imprisoned, tortured or 'disappeared'.
..... Ok, wouldn't it be better to call the top earners in the USA who defraud and 'pay' for this way to continue out and out criminals.
That getting them to pay up what they by law should be paying in tax, is harder than "getting blood out of a stone". That they bribe, cheat, manipulate the people and government of the USA reminds me of a cuckoo chick's behaviour. N' that others are quite happy to through bribery, blackmail and just pure greed.. let it carry on as long as they get new cars each year!!
... Or to just call them thieving unscrupulous gits?
O čem je toďten plk: Re: higher rate than most in the working class.
Artful Dodger:
"when the top one-tenth of 1 percent has seen their incomes go up four or five times over the last 20 years, and folks at the bottom have seen their incomes decline -- and your response is that you want poor folks to pay more?"
and
""If...if asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as a jew...uh...as a janitor makes me a warrior for the working class, I wear that with a badge of honour.""
He made a slip regarding the tightness of the rich's wallets and the emptiness of the poor's. An old English thing was regarding the tightness of a Scottish man's wallet. Blunt.. I'll give you that.
.. But the point at being at ransom at the hands of 0.10% ... or did you not hear about the rich recently blackmailing our governments?
O čem je toďten plk: Interesting thought regarding Sarah Palin......
"McCain didn't choose her. The GOP did because they WANTED to throw the election. They knew that NO ONE was going to fix the economy overnight, and by the time of the NEXT cycle they could blame it on the Dems. Pretty clever really."
Perhaps the real economists who were able to access the country's accounts and gave the GOP advise told the truth.
"They knew that NO ONE was going to fix the economy overnight"

At least 80 people have been arrested during an anti-Wall Street march in New York's financial district.
Several hundred people took part in Saturday's march, which was intended to draw attention to "corporate greed and corrupt politics" in the US. Participants carried banners supporting a range of other issues, including healthcare reform, an end to US wars and the scrapping of the death penalty.
The march came after a week of protests by the Occupy Wall Street campaign.
The loosely organised group says it is defending 99% of the US population against the wealthiest 1%, and had called for 20,000 people to "flood into lower Manhattan" on 17 September and remain there for "a few months".
"The enemy is the big business leaders of Wall Street, the big oil company leaders, the coal company leaders, the big military industrial leaders." A number of placards also called for "justice for Troy Davies", the US man executed in Georgia last week amid widespread criticism.
Police said most of Saturday's arrests were for disorderly conduct and blocking traffic, but one person was charged with assaulting a police officer. One officer also suffered a shoulder injury, said police.
They have not commented on protest organisers' comments that there had been an "unprecedented level of police aggression" on display.
... The bosses always do get extra protection. One has only to look back at how lords and other nobles of the land faired well. As long as they paid respect to the '''KiNg'''

Sorry... might be not accurate, the tax reform figures are a gain for the federal deficit cut plans are $150,000,000,000 per year, not $1,000,000,000,000 as is owed and lost each year.
Guess asking the masters to pay up the 20% of reportable income they keep tax free (approx) and defraud the US by breaking the law of the land is just a step to far!! ... quoting 2008 figures here btw.
When the rich are seen (supposed to be our peers) cheating, lying and greedy... what is honest Joe supposed to think?
Obama proposes to recoup some of the $1,000,000,000,000+ lost through tax fraud and evasion that the US elite top wage earners commit each year.
.... A common fraud is over exaggerating donations to churches and other charities. Common with men under 50!!
Who will protest at some form of clamping down on fraud? After all it's less than half the tax evasion loss to the USA... A reversal of the old Robin Hood, steal from the poor to 'bling' up the rich.
Yeah we need someone who won't have a nice job lined up at the end of his term, not lobbied on nice parties *burp* .. cash.. off shore accounts .. Clothes .. N' other little perks (as one racing driver says in his head & shoulders ad) that goes from so many pressure groups.
Yeah.. A real fiscal conservative!!
N' when they are out.. they can blame the next one!! N' so on and so on... zzzzzzzz
O čem je toďten plk: Re: Obama is president and you seem to be forgetting that fact.
rod03801: Good!! It's nice that we don't have to go around in circles.
I remember from watching a few *cough* shows on human behaviour on how some like to think they have the power to change things, sometimes on how a group of people think they can change things/or someone.
...It don't work unless the things/person wants to change.
Same rules apply to humans on a large scale. Or, as an example.. when are MP's got caught with their hands in the public purse building duck ponds. They all said it was the other parties fault. Yet the Tories change the rules so they could do it.. but Labour did not stop the rot until us voters found out!!
N' quite frankly the idea of some religious nut (as with the current Tea party/Conservative/neo con candidates) getting in the Oval office.. .. as everyone in the US has to admit is the only kinda right winger will get elected!!
....thinking God is on their side as they go to war.
We'd lock up anyone who thought they had a right to do that in the UK, rather than let them be our CEO. Seriously, we came so close to oblivion during the Cold war.. on more than one occasion.. that anyone with rabid ideology should never be placed where there is a red button.
And anyone thinking that God is going to kill mosta human kind on a bet (re Job) ain't safe in power!!
