Is it possible to offer and accept a draw if both players agree? I have looked over a recent game and both players could have reached a point where taking another tank would mean losing- so both players could just move endlessly- there appears to be a need for a rule similar to chess so a draw can be agreed upon of is automatic after so many moves with no piece taken. Any thoughts??
DragonKing: I think that any game ought to be resigned in a hopeless position. But not everyone thinks so. There are people here that will drag out a game for an extra half year, even if the outcome is known. (And I'm not talking about Tank Battle in particular).
Vikings: OK i copied the top line- where the URL is in other words and I got this: Tank Battle (dromedary vs. DragonKing) Does that make a link for everyone?
DragonKing: the address bar for this page should read "http;//brainking.com/en/Board?bc=19" and depending on how your computer is set up is either in your start bar, your task bar or in your menu bar
Vikings: I understand how to copy and paste- but I'm not seeing what you call the address bar. I clicked on the game ID under my flag- and that didn't work. Where exactly do I click?
DragonKing: bring up the game and then right click with your curser over the address bar, a pop up window will appear and one of the options will be "copy" left click that. then come back here and start up a message, right click in the message box and a menu will appear with one of the options being "paste" left click that and then your link will appear like this Tank Battle (dromedary vs. DragonKing)
DragonKing: You don't score for the tanks you capture. You score for the tanks you have - with bonus points if they are in the enemy starting area.
Since you have 9 tanks, none of them in your opponents starting area, you have 9 points. Your opponent has 11 tanks, none of them in your starting area, and hence your opponent has 11 points.
And next time, please make your game number a link.
Would someone answer a question for me? In my current game 3291170- why do I have the points I have? Other than the tanks I have captured- how else do I score?
WhisperzQ: The thing is- I cant make the board untili have enough tanks to make the size of the sqaures proportional. And i would need 28 tanks- if there are the same color I can always paint half- mark the Command Tank with a flag orsomething....
DragonKing: Yes, there are lots of "War Gaming" pieces around, my son plays Warhammer which he got from Games Workshop and I am sure there are some pieces there taht could be used.
DragonKing: I have never seen the game for sale but that does not mean it isn't ... this is one Fencer had here from the start of the site, not sure where he found it. I would expect that if you could make the board it would not be hard to fnd markers which might be used, could be checkers with a double stack for the Commander or "King" tank for instance.
WRT to the pink square, only the Commander can land or pass through them and they are all safe (that is one Commander cannot take another Commander there).
I read a discussion section from awhile back and was wondering: once a tank enters the enemy base is it inviolate, or can it still be captured by an enemy piece?
The current moderator of this board has been away for over 2 months, so we are currently looking for a new moderator of this board. Things to consider:
1) Need to be a knight or above
2) Need to have knowledge of the game / have played some/many games (not necessarly good at the game)
3) Need to be able to get along with people & be fair to all users.
If you are interested, please send Me a Message and a short note that you would like to moderate the Tank Battle board. (and if you want to add other reasons why you would make a good moderator - that is fine.)
In a few days, we will start to look at everyone who applied and decide who would be best suited for this position.
