I agree with Bumble....
I think in here you can be refused to a fellowship for any reason, or no reason at all.
Race, creed, color, political beleifs, whatever, if the big boss doesn't want you, you are out, period.
Not sure how one would actually determine this however... My guess is that there are a women or two, who are on this site pretending to be males etc.... how would one actually know?
O čem je toďten plk:Madhouse & Scrabble Fellowships

O čem je toďten plk:Angel Fellowship members & harley
I would like to appologise for any distress caused to members of the 'Angels' Fellowship & harley for what was written in the 'OLD' Cave fellowship.
In no way was it said in the manner in which it has been perceived.
Bernice: I don't think you'd have much of a case. The big boss is God and if he/she doesn't want someone in their fellowship that's it. No reasons have to be given. You just have to grin and bear it.
I guess that would depend on the fellowship. For instance, if someone set up a fellowship for Aussies and refused to let, say, anyone not an Aussie in....
Can someone tell me...if you are refused entry to a fellowship on your race or whatever...can that be taken as discrimination? and if so what can you do about it :)
Thanks for the burgers Star, you are a star ... I'll just take them over to the boys now ... they are famished after spending a few days out in the cold ... amazing how warm a cave can be W:)
Fencer: I am glad you mention BK 2.0 and you also know who has done more than anyone to help you test it and report the bugs for you to fix, so it would be in operation quicker. Now, sadly he is banned...
Fencer, please do not take this the wrong way ... but I really think this is the most important issue you need to consider, far more important than BK2, because BK2 will come and go but you need to work out where you and Liquid are going to earn a living, is that to be BK or your current 9-5 jobs.
If you do not know which market you are aiming for, or how to reach them, or what they want, then how can you design a financially sustainable site to meet their needs.
I posted this in pubic because I think others also need to realise that you have to first determine these questions and know here you are going before they can say "this site should only have board games, get rid of fellowships" or "it would be better to have more fun games and develop the community aspects, having the best-of-the-best here is not important". I beleive the two are not possible at the one site because they are completely different markets. A compromise, maybe, but you are the one who needs to determine if it will work.
As for time ... you have all the time you need until the food on your table depends on this site providing it.
WhisperzQ: How could I answer this? For example, "the strategy is still being formulated" :-D Just kidding. Everybody knows that no site can keep everybody and lose nobody. It's just about compromises. BK 2.0 should be really helpful in this task. Give me more time.
I guess, Caissus, you have hit on the most important question facing Fencer ... IS this site to be a (purely) board games site or a site which caters for a number of forms of entertainment.
I would argue that, say, the QuizMasters Asylum quizzes are just as pertinent as the board games. And what of the discussion which sometimes goes on in the "HISTORY AND WARGAMES" fellowship which talks of strategies used in the greatest games of all, ones where real people die, is that not, too, relevant to board games.
Caissus, I know you have your point of view and refer to all the good players who come and do not stay for whatever reason. But is that the market which Fencer is trying to reach, keep, sustain, foster and eventually earn a living from ... I might wonder if such a narrow focus might not be financially unviable.
So Fencer, the task is yours ... what do you actually want this site to be? Who do you want to attract? Who do you want to keep? Who do you want to "lose"? And all this while you work on BK2!!!
i think you are missing the point , many people do come for the boards here , if people dont want to read then they dont have to ,nobody forces them to read anything , people wont stay away because there are discussion boards here , but they could stay away if there are none
Lythande, you are right completely,we don`t need these nongames fellowships,-boards and whatever here in Brainking!
This is a gamesite and many of us want play here games only and peaceful!.We need the resources of Brainking to improve the site, not for worldwar and other useless things.
Do you know how many serious players therefor have left the site in the past or have not joined, because they believe the main themes are more and more other things than games?
Also you can see the negative results in the last days.
If you want talk and discuss about "god and the world",there are other possibilities in the internet.I am for outhousing of all nongames themes to yahoo, and the "Big Boss" can write the link in his profile.I am for more "red line" and I support Fencer in his decision completely!
If BigBrother type censorship is coming with BK2, I'll be more than willing to leave. There used to be this neat little site started by TDV called h2g2. Great little site. People got really interested and it grew very fast.
I got very interested. Had a ton of content onsite. Got invited and happily joined when they started some volunteer groups. Drew quite a few folks in for them. Was quite happy helping them out. Lots of others were, too. Lots of people. Servers expensive. Finances.. ugh!
So Auntie Beeb offers to 'help them out' by buying them out. Not TDV, just that popular site.. secretly, of course, and the foop was story for different nightmares. They closed it down and hid all the content (kidnapped it, actually.. no one had the chance to remove their intellectual property) while she had the chance to run her grimy little fingers through everything making sure it was okay for kiddies to read. Introduced proactive moderation and a host of other neat little 'rules'.
It's not been the same since. Lots of people left. And that was a -free- site!
Caissus, why do we need a story board? Why do we need a debate fellowship? Why do we need a scrabble fellowship? These aren't about BK games. Why? Because people want a place to get together and talk. Having discussion boards and fellowships on BK mean we/they can play games -and- keep an eye on new postings just by checking the sidebar. :)
First of all, I am a women and I will defend women when neccessary. My feeling this plain and simple........if the women can have their own "girl" clubs and discuss whatever they may want to discuss....that should remain among girls and within the club. Men should have the the same for a "men's ony" club A weasel who has brought ANYHING out of those private clubs is a snitch or a weasel and they alone should be dealt with according. YOu as individuals also have a choice........join a group, if you find out over time that group isn't to your liking or your moral standards....get out of the kichen heat, but let the men barbeque.........thet over cook the meat all the time anyways....LOL
Starofdarkness, why do they need Brainking for their "boyclub"? You all,who miss "the cave" why don`t you found a special yahoogroup for this object and the "Big Boss" can write the link in his profile. You don`t need the resources of Brainking for your nongames ideas.I think Fencer needs his resources to make his gamesite better.
Re-instate the boys only club, "The Cave". Men need their outlet to vent just as women do. Let men be boys or boys be men, but let them have their place to do their own thing...afterall, women hhave thir own venting/exchange clubs. LET THE MEN BEE!!! These are men who need to vent also, just as us women do and if you are a woman we already know they need their own coral...we just have to watch ou for the flying s**t.
Jules - the best thing to do is send him a message - even though he does often read the message boards, he does not always have time to read every board... and when he does, your post might be buried under many others.
but at the mo I'm still down as being in a CAVE backgammon tourne..
Will this change so I can sign up soon? If not, can another place for votes be made.. One (or 2) where not many people play to give a clear shot for the knights to vote?
In just a few short hours, we already have over 20 people that want steve and mad monkey back. I say we use that unused link named polls and take a site vote.
