Actually back when it was first talked about, Fencer liked the idea - like creating a new game on the site - the "Brain Game".
But other things could help Fencer out for example now he was a store that sells items, bonus brains for items bought. bonus brains for extending your own membership maybe. bonus brains for donations. So lets say you want someone on the list but don't have enough brains to buy it - maybe a donation of every dollar gets you 10 extra brains - which would in turn get Fencer extra $$ in return for brains - which in almost all cases does not really buy anything that will hurt Fencer or his goal to make this site self relient when it comes to $$ income.
Also another things that Fencer would gain is pawns would be watching some of the cool things paid members could do like post in different colors, etc... which I believe would get some more pawns to buy memberships. The more "fun" you can bring to the site, the more people you will get to support the site.
I bet that when God decided to create the world and everything in it you'll find that BBW will try and prove that he actually had the idea first. :D
Anyway, Fencer awards all these brains for tournament wins and spends time creating these extra icon, but what does he actually gain from it? I mean, he isn't getting any revenue from the idea. It looks to me that Fencer loses out.
And so you don't have to search, here is what I had at the time. This is just an outline, and more details may still need to be worked on.
=============================
Game Rules:
- Only Knights and above can earn Brains.
- If your membership expires, so does anything you have previously purchased. If you re-purchase a membership, you will be given back what you had before.
- Rules, prices, store items, etc... may change at any time.
- If you are found cheating in ANY WAY to gain more Brains - all your Brains will be taken away, and your privledge of playing with Brains will be taken away.
How to earn Brains:
1 Brain - for each TOURNAMENT game win. (Not sure if a rule can be put into place of limit 2 Brains per day against same person - to help curb any possible cheating)
2 Brains - for each tournament win (for tournaments with total 4-8 players)
3 Brains - for each tournament win (for tournaments with total 9-15 players)
4 Brains (16-25), 5 Brains (26-35)... and so on
SITE Tournaments ran by the site may contain EXTRA BONUS brains for tournament wins.
USER Tournaments can also include EXTRA BONUS brains which has to be "paid" for with users own brains.

I think Rex you need to read the section on how acquire brains and what they are and what theyare good for. Brains has nothing to do with playing the games.
In this the internet age our main form of physical exercise is that of clicking with the mouse finger, without regular and profuse clicks one'll keel over smitten by a cardial infarction. Treasure those extra clicks man, they're what's keeping you going.
WHAT? Baby, baby, baby, if you your sweet self are engaged elsewhere, for example in the futile clicking on full tournaments, you will not see that the oppo's still made no moves, it don't speed up the games themselves but it reduces the chances of noticing that one's partner hasn't moved, or to re-express it "is playing slowly", savvy?
ughaibu is trying to say that extra clicks slows down the fast players. This seems like a small effect, but I'm sure it was the comic effect that was sought.
No... I still dont get your point. If my 'your turn to move' box is empty (I have no games to play) how does that slow down games? lso if I do have games to play, it would be quicker if I dont have to wade through tournaments to find out if they are full or not.
If Fencer adds a "tournament full" indicator there'll be more complaints about players moving slowly, just enjoy those extra clicks and you'll be fine.
I dont know if it is really autopass but it is something similar to it. i am not sure what else to call it though. However you would have to submit your move after each shot like ending your turn to avoid cheating. The other battleboats games dont need it as this is something different. I mean imagine like in battleboats plus getting a hit and keeping your turn until you miss completely. A person could get a hit on the first turn and keep shooting until they sink them all. That would be 5 shots each go around. The other player would never get a turn to play. So my idea takes original battleboats and adds a twist. I call it Bonus Battleboats because the bonus is keeping your turn by getting a hit. You can play this version if you get one of those handheld battleship games by Milton Bradley. The handheld battery game has this version on it.
That isnt really aotopass is it Brian? It would technically still be your turn if you got a hit, and wouldnt need to be passed back to you... Sounds like it could be a fun variation. It could even be done with dark boats or any of them for that matter, and would definitly help speed up the game :)
I still dont see the taboo on this subject on Fencer's part. I still would like to see my idea of battleboats bonus implemented. To do it without anyone cheating you would have to have an autopass type of feature built into the program however. The idea for those who dont know is you get to one shot per turn and keep your turn as long as you get a hit. However this would be easy to cheat. So you would have to submit the move officially before you know the result. After the submission of the move, if you get a hit on a ship the game would autopass your opponent's turn and allow you another shot. Important the shot would have to be submitted like normal before you would know if it was a hit or not to prevent cheating.
Or... maybe they should not even still be listed under games waiting to sign upanymore, since they are already full. Maybe have them listed under games waiting to start or the like?
When browsing the tournaments that are waiting to be signed up for, it would be nice to have them marked when they are already full. Instead we have to go through two seperate links, only to find out that it is already full. :)
indeed there's a single valid argument against autopass:
i.e., in that case your roll would be triggered by your opponent.
actually something that game purists certainly wouldn't like ... ~*~
No, if the queen moved like a king because that's what the programmer intended it is NOT a bug. A bug is when the code doesn't do what is desired. If the code does exactly what you planned for it to do, it is COMPLETELY bug free.
i disagree. The code has a bug because the requirements were incorrect and that was passed on to the code.
If it were more obvious you would probably agree.
for example, once again, if the queen moved only one square at a time because the engineer didn't understand the rules of chess, I would consider that a bug, or defect, not a missing feature.
