2006 Checkers Single Elimination Championship (Kingoška z Amerike - vesvětlet špil) Single elimination is an ideal format to determine who is the top player. All too often, tournaments have been populated by duplicate pawn accounts that would be "defeated" by their "owner", yet draw against the rest of the field, thereby allowing an undeserving player to "win" by a mere half point.
This cannot happen in single elimination. All of the duplicate pawn accounts in the world cannot stop you from reaching the summit if you are the strongest player.
The first 32 to register can participate. If you lose a game, you are out, and need not play in subsequent rounds. Therefore, a maximum of 5 rounds will be played, so it will not tax your playing schedule. Draws are replayed until someone emerges victorious.
