grenv: like I told you in the first place, that would be fine with me, I was simply givings reasons why people wouldn't like it

because it is multiplayer and it is the way fencer set it up

grenv: in a 1 day time limit you can make your moves 47hours and 59 min. apart, if you plan it right, in your scenerio you can't plan on anything past 24 hours and howerver many min. until the top of the hour, without a set time out time, there would be some confusion about when you would have to make your next move by. and some people only get online once a day about the same time, this would cause problems for them if they would happen to get online a few min. late. This is why I like IYT's basing a day as 28 hours

grenv: I wish that would work also, but the problem is that people would time out or rather be stuck with the same bid for 2 rounds, ie. you make your bid at 6 in the morning in a 1 day per move game, the move is supposed to be made by 5 the next morning, but you are going out of town overnight, you should be alright until 5 the morning after you get back, but everyone made their move by 9 am and you dont get back in town until 3 pm, the low bid doubles and doubles again, but since you didn't make the 24 hours, you go splash

I'm not so sure that a bigger pond is worth more, If you play in one of BBW's fast tourneys, your rating is calculated the same way as if you played in a larger tourney, more important is the ratings of other players

it's like any other game here, ratings and tourney's won, anyhow the winner would end up with one of the higher ratings

you could give bonus points for having ther low bid in any givin round

how about ranking games like nascar, points for being in your position during the gameie, 16 players so first round ist place gets 100 points, 2nd place gets 98 points, 3rd gets 95, 4th gets 90, and so on. then tabulate the entire game, the higher finishers get rewarded much more than the lower finishers.

It wasn't very clear in the description, I almost missed it and bid higher, Many people don't read the description because they already know how to play the games that they are joining, It would be best if people would put the description of variations in the title, I had the same questions as Pedro and was going to ask for clarification, but since I played by the rules, I don't have to worry about that anymore

the flaw in the theory is that as Mr Trice says, is that it is to stay alive in the game. But you have to play to win the game, If you don't do that by the second to last move, you lose

actualy, there are golfers who will cheat their scores to raise their handicap so that when theiy play in a tourney, they gain an advantage, its called sandbagging.

Unless Thad is throwing his games, I think it is teaching. I have advised lesser players after they have made their moves as to what could have been a better move, and had stronger players than I, do the same for me, and still not compromised the game.
Like the golfer, Mr. Trice's serrogate player is cheating himself

so if a man is golfing by himself and shoots a score of 85, but his score card shows a score of 79 because of mulligans and hurried tap-ins that he thinks shouldnt count. etc... is he cheating?

not that it matters, because there is a serious flaw in the formula, mr Trice may get close, but he won't win

its eazy to leave out a zero, but the tourney doesn't have to be over, I simply bet zero the next round and bow out

its a trick, after doing this for a while and suckering people into all betting 2, he will change his bid to 4 and win a tournement in one turn

we all also have to understand that with people here from all sorts of cultures, what one person sees as rude, another person sees as normal

maybe if you put the word "fellowship" in the title you would have less of a problem, there are so many fellowships its hard to keep tract of, I know that I have never heard of that one, and I, like most people really don't read the description that closely

Weekends-the problem is that people have different days set for their weekends, would make the game drag on forever
