Auto pass is an option that players can use or not, so i would like to know if there's the possibility to become this option compulsory for everybody, or at least for players with a high number of games like 500 or 1000, for example.
I say that because i'm playing with ladiesmaninny32 a game with 7 days per move that started on August and until now he only did 6 moves...6 moves in 6 months. Problem is not 7 days per move, but he use holidays and when holidays of 2008 finished, he won holidays of 2009. This is ridiculous, the game will take a long time.
And ladiesmaninny32 is only an example, there're more players to do the same thing.
Undertaker.: On the same sort of subject, i am playing in the latest Backgammon Team Tournament (5 points match with doubling cube), and it states in the games that AUTO-PASS is being used.
Why does this not work when i have a piece off the board (on the bar) and all 6 points are covered so i can not get back on, BUT i still have to roll the dice
pauloaguia: If a person has an option to double, then autopass should not happen.
But for a reply - well that is a non-issue - since if for example Player 1 makers their move on March 1st - and Player 2 makes their move on March 3rd.
Player 1 will make a move - get autopassed back to him - make his next move - get autopassed back to him - make his next move and then send to Player 2.
Guess what - Player 2 STILL makes their next move on March 3rd - so they can still reply or talk at the same exact time they would have originally.
So to me - not being able to chat is a non-issue. (I would be happy to turn off my chat box like some players do if we could get an autopass setup on all games that can use them.)
coan.net: It's also a non issue for me, but I think that's the way it works right now... I was just pointing that out as a possible reason for MM's problem...
Undertaker.: In 2008, Ladiesmanny ran out of holidays, played his moves for a few days, then extended his membership to get more holidays, to be able to resume his crawling speed.
AbigailII: I am playing him too and am having the same problem. Since the beginning of the year, he's used up most of his vacation days delaying tourneys and delaying individual games. He's at 14 left for the year. At this rate, he'll have used his entire year in less than two months. Many have complained so I hope there will a stop to this so no additional vacation days can be purchased by anyone for any reason. If 35 days isn't enough, then people ought to play fewer games or be forced to lose. 6 moves in 6 months should be an automatic loss for the offender.
