When you look at a profile and goto finished games, it used to show you the last 10 games finished, in fact it still says it does.....why now does it not display anything
One of the achievment awards is a black rook (if you gain all the bonus colour codes). I was just wondering if a black rook 'achieves' this, do they get to donate their black rook to another user?
I used to pay by PayPal all the time. It was fast and easy. So, to test this Alert Pay, I set up an account (took less than ten minutes, picked a pawn from the registry, and sponsored him to see how quickly the transaction would take. It took about 30 seconds. I just checked and he's a bishop. so....IMO, Alert Pay is just as easy as PayPal. Maybe easier. It doesn't work as easily with bank transfer of funds (due to transfer fees) but they take credit cards, money orders (no fee) and checks (no fee). Looks like a good alternative to Paypal.
Fencer: Sorry, I don't see that option, but that's the same as I mean But I see just 3 options But I don't want to be involved, I paid my membership and own a creditcard, no problems at all
Fencer: Well, what I mean is that people can book money straight to your bankaccount. As far as I can see it's now only possible by using another company, and often you pay (extra) money for that, but not always. I see 3 ways to pay money: 1. Wire transfer - only possible for people living in the Czech Republic. 2. MoneyBookers 3. Alertpay-account or creditcard
Now you can add a 4th way of payment: straight from my bank to your bankaccount and doing by myself. You can do it online and totally free in the EU. The only extra thing is that people have to know the IBAN code and SWIFT code of your bank, but you can add that in the description how to pay.
In this way you use no companies that can freeze your account, people must add their nickname, but they have to do that now too. Maybe you want a separate bankaccount for this payments, that's why I said to open an extra bankaccount, but that's up to you ofcourse and probably not necessary if you have already several as you say.
Fencer: well.....I purchase off the internet products/"stuff" at least once a week....each and every one is paid for using paypal...never a problem....as I said you are the only one I've heard of...
Bernice: How many merchants with no PayPal problems you actually know? Of course, since their policy is to attracts as many customers as possible, people who only pay usually don't have any issues.
Stingette: Why should it be a "challenge"? Since I opened an AlertPay account, I accepted almost 500 payments and nobody ever complained about any problems or complications. I cannot bring back PayPal because, unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst option for merchants (although it might look like the best option for customers). There is no point to accept payments if they can freeze your account anytime and for any reason. Which means, you would be able to pay but I won't be able to get the real money.
Stingette: you've got NO HOPE him bringing back paypal...it is unfortunate as he is the only one I have heard of having problems, but then I guess not everyone owns a gaming site.....
Stingette: Yes, I heard more people complaining about it But as we know/read is Paypal not an option. Not myself, I paid already in advance I paid a few weeks ago for an English member here and used my creditcard, no problem at all But not everyone like creditcards or owns one. Maybe it's an idea for Fencer to open a (separate or extra?) bankaccount?? I guess it's today very easy for everybody to send money online from your own bankaccount to another one anywhere in the world. I think it solves this problem for many people, or do I overlook something?
I don't mean to whine, but please bring back Paypal!
I found it more convenient and easier to access when renewing or buying a BK membership. I won't be able to renew my current Rook membership as I've discovered the other methods of payment you've listed proves a challenge for me to use. It's disappointing that you won't accept Paypal on BK anymore.
Does anyone else feel the same about this subject/issue?
Bwild: Fellowships were created for the purpose of team matches, but so many are there for discussion only. That doesn't mean it's a bad thing, Fencer just wants to separate them into 2 categories: those for chat and discussion (groups), and those for team matches (fellowships).
rod03801: impression? all I read is the drawbacks of fellowships, hence giving the impression they are soon to be gone...where did it say fellowships would be enhanced or dropped?
AbigailII: paypal does the same thing! alertpay is slow...but does work. I hope it catches on, since the only place I've seen it is here, and its not likely I will be using it at this site ever again.
Bwild: I could be wrong, but I got the impression there would still be fellowships, but there would be an additional "product" where people that just wanted to have a "club" for discussions, could do so. (Since SO many fellowships have been set up for just discussions, and they were actually intended to be used for Teams for specific game types). That's my interpretation anyway.
AbigailII: I never heard of anything like that. Please send me a message with your MoneyBookers account email address and I will try to ask them for an explanation.
AbigailII: Ugh, that's frustrating. I personally didn't like Money Bookers (I don't remember why). I have been using Alert Pay, and have had zero problems with it. It is pretty similar to PayPal
I've tried to take advantage of the "code red" promotion. To do so, I created a new moneybrookers account and transferred EUR 36 from my bank account into it (using IDEAL). This was successful, and moneybrookers confirms I have EUR 36 in my account.
At the same moment however, they locked my account for all outgoing transfers. Which means, I'm out EUR 36 - and have no BK subscription in return. Does anyone else have had similar moneybrookers issues? I've used them without problems in the past (using a credit card), but they now wanted more information for a credit card transaction that I was willing to give them - hence the direct transfer route.
Bwild: That's easy, my friend. The PaidMembership page shows only new subscriptions, not the renewed ones. And since it really can be confusing, I will remove that list too.
Bwild: Well it's probably just the open board that will change. That's how I read things. You'll be able to create your own board with your own circle of friends. I think.
Artful Dodger: I read that...its just not very clear...kinda like yesterdays blog...about ALL the people taking advantage of the xmas special....kinda confusing when you only see 1???http://brainking.com/en/PaidMembership
Bwild: public discussion boards will be replaced by a new system that would be focused on groups of friends, event comment threads and a rewritten module of problem reports or "I am lost, please help me" inquiries.
Can some1 set up a poll for me about my JaN, 8Th = ElViS's B-dAy StArT @ 4:30 And the 2 picks are 1) should we wait tell his B-day to start or 2) have the games start when they get full now
rabbitoid: Thank you kindly, and to the others, for timely and concise response. I will issue a brief note to Fencer, and also ask him to refer to the notes here, and whether he wishes to handle it or delegate to a moderator is alright with me.
BK can't control what unruly individuals will do or say, but they certainly should be able and willing to enforce the expressly written codes of conduct. These offenders need to be put on notice!
Pioneer54: Your best option as well, is to put that person on your blocked user list. They will not be able to send you private messages, nor will you see their in-game messages.
