Onderwerp: Re: Portuguese/Spanish Checkers
arpa: Hi. Firstly, Portuguese/Spanish Checkers is one of the most popular variants played in many parts of the world.

There are important differences between Portuguese/Spanish Checkers:
- Initial Position: black corner on the right, 12 pieces on the 12 black squares closest to the player
- Captures:
• quantity rule you must capture the most pieces possible (be they queens or pawns)
• quality rule if possible to capture the same number of opponent’s pieces, you must capture the most queens possible
- Draws:
• 13 moves rule (it’s mathematically possible to win): when a player has 3 queens, one of them on the main diagonal, and the other player only has one, the game must be finished in 13 moves or it will be a draw …
• Repetition: of the same position for the third time

We (BrainKing.pt) want to divulge the idea to have the support of other countries. So, will be easier Fencer approve the Portuguese or Spanish Checkers.

You can find on petition these differences and if you agree with our idea you can sign. (Password is BrainKing).
