General talk about movies, TV, radio, and other entertainment discussion.
Discussing favorite movies is a great topic but keep in mind some folks haven't seen the movie yet we may be discussing so don't give the endings away!

LuckyCat9: I wouldn't say that the callers are "weirdos" per say, just ordinary people who have witnessed 1st hand & decide to call in. Believe me, I would call in myself. I do believe in UFO's, aliens, ghosts & everything else. Art Bell hasn't left the program, he cut his worktime down (somewhat retiring) to spend time w/ his family an such. He still does at least 2 Sunday's per month
They have some of those shows on the local PBS staton here as well on a small channel which has detective shows to. Has anyone watch Mary Walsh's show "Open Book"?
I like these british sitcoms:
chef!
coupling
As Time Goes By
Father Ted
Fawlty Towers
My Family
The Vicar of Dibley
Girls On Top
distant shores
Mad About Alice
Kiss Me Kate
One Foot in The Grave
Only Fools and Horses
Two Point 4 Children
smack the pony
Waiting for God
I had been watching 2 shows which came on during the day "Ambush Makeover" & "Design Invasion" but they took them completely off the air here in the Detroit area..Already watching enough reruns of "Cops" as it is
example:
I like a lot of british mysteries.
and I like british comedies.I think the brits have a sharper wit for humour than the dumb slapstick watched in north america.
but most people north america arent crazy I finf about these.
I dont want to offend anyone, but reality shows all seem the same..whinning about who we like..dont like...who we vote in/out it all looks like an adolescent popularity contest.no acting no plot..I tried to develop an interest..but couldnt find anything interesting.
we we all have different tastes.viva la difference.
MagicDragon: Not sure about Whisperer, just read the show info on cbs.com a few mins ago. Lotta new shows to check out, most wont make it as usual I assume. There is a new one on nbc that might be worth a laugh "my name is earl" If you are a Dogma fan or Kevin Smith fan you'll recognize Jason Lee
a real life...but I was mixilating bt verbs & called it a really life.
hey I'm not the only one that mixilates my words.I notice ScarletRose does it too
Not even going to start any type of fighting or saying bad about things in TV land. Does anyone think the new show "Ghost Whisperer" going to be any good?
nobleheart: Right and the boards purpose here is to discuss shows, movies etc.. not to dis what other people like to watch. We are trying to keep it a pleasant board not a negative one.

Rose: Sometimes I do.....I gave up watching Big Brother tho..Some reality shows are better than TV shows that are not reality based ( no offense taken)
so many films not enough time..I hav ebeen seeing films & smoozing at the international film festival in toronto...I saw the other night a GREAT movie..watch for it:
"mrs. henderson presents"
I made 2 mistakes last year - I got "hooked" on the TV shows Lost & the 4400. Both that I started watching 1/2 way through the season, so ended up catching up during the reruns.
So I figured I would check out some of the new show and if they are good - I will make it a habit to watch them all.
Just got done watching the first show:
Supernatural - on WB - Don't think I've really ever watched anything on WB, but this one actually looks good - and the first episose was very good in my opinion. (Repeat on Thursday) - Anyway, I give this show a thumbs up.
Most shows don't start until next week. Wednesdays looks the busiest - Lost & invastion, along with Head Cases - and can't forget Ghost Hunters on SciFi, and when Mythbusters start new shows - Ugh. I can currently DVR 2 shows at a time - will be fun when 3 are on that I want to watch.
Has anyone out there seen this movie yet &, whut did U think of it without giving out 2 much details for those who have not seen it???
Looks good 2 me;)

I'm not normally keen on subtitles either, but honestly almost from the start you're so into the film you don't even notice. They may as well be speaking English. Its very, very moving. Theres not many films I think about for a long time after but that was one, and I'll be watching it again soon.
I know I'm about a year late(!) but I'd be interested to hear what other people thought of 'Passion Of Christ'? I loved it but my partner hated it. What are other peoples opinions and why?
steve, the cartoon charcater "foghorn leghorn" was based on senator claghorn.
do a search on the senator.
what you are thinking of is the movie
"Senator Claghorn-It's A Joke, Son!"
Starring: Kenny Delmar.
its kenny delmar you are thinking of in the movie playing the senator:
http://www.otrnow.com/store/dvd/ItsAJokeSon_01.htm
this is the only place I have ever seen where you can get the movie.I have only seen it on tv once ..years ago.
Foghorn Leghorn is a large animated rooster appearing in numerous Warner Brothers cartoons. He first appeared in 1946 in a Henery Hawk film entitled Walky Talky Hawky. Foghorn Leghorn is considered a significant Looney Tunes character, whose sidekick/nemesis was The Barnyard Dog. Many of the gags involved Leghorn and the dog trying to outdo and punish each other.
His voice was created by actor Mel Blanc, heavily patterned after the character of Senator Claghorn, a blustering southern politician who was a regular character on the Fred Allen radio show. Senator Claghorn was created and voiced by radio comedian Kenny Delmar. Foghorn Leghorn used a number of Claghorn's catch phrases, like "That's a joke... I say, that's a joke, son". The references to Senator Claghorn were obvious to much of the audience when the Foghorn Leghorn cartoons first premiered, but like many of the references in WB cartoons of the era, they have since become dated and "go over the heads" of most modern-day audiences.
A leghorn is a breed of chicken, and foghorn describes the character's loud, overbearing voice. At its most raucous, it sounds similar to Blanc's Yosemite Sam.
I heard the cartoon character "foghorn leghorn" was based on a not well known contemporary of W.C.fields who made one movie.
does anyone know who this is & what the movie's name was?
