Okay, than we must have more good chessplayer, than we have more chessgames in the waiting room, more new players see these games ,play and join, again more games in the waiting room ....:)

Caissus
Perhaps we should have different waiting rooms, one for chess and variants, one for checkers,...etc.because most chessplayers are not interested at gammons or checker games.
My impression is that , chessplayers which are new on this site and see in the waiting room only battleboats, backgammon or lines, they don`t join but go away to sites where they can find more and only chess.

Emne: Draw offer
Sometimes I have had the impression, that my draw offer was not read by my opponent.
Perhaps there should be a flashing lamp in red or yellow, for the blind :-)?

Emne: Download of games
A pgn-file can contain several games.Perhaps it can be possible in the new Brainking version to download not only one game in pgn-format,but also a bundle of games, for instance all games of a tournement, some games of one player or some games of a special period?

Emne: Re: ratings
Personnally I think there are too many single BKR`s. Perhaps would it makes sense to summarize BKR`s in groups for instance all Halma games, all Checkers, all Gammons ? In Chess I would like to see three groups: regular chess, chessvariations with regular board and set, and variants with bigger boards and additional pieces.

It is right,Ughaibu I thought as an additional feature,as average of all played games.

Would be a "Brainking BKR" a good idea for the new Brainking version?
It could be the average of all single BKR`s.
Btw I don`t like the word "Enemylist", better : "Ignorelist".

Emne: Re: Time limits
Accumulation is the advantage of this system : you are more flexible, you can play some moves faster and if you need more time for a complicated position or if you have no time at home you can use some more days for a move. But you are right, there should be an additional limit and I see here two possible solutions:
1.Accumulation is only possible within one period, for instance 10m/10d it begins new at the 11th move..or

2.Accumulation is possible through all the game, but the time until the next move could not be more than 10 days (or after the 15th day without a move it is a "tacit recession" (the right word"?:))

I find the first point a little bit better.
Btw in the past we played correspondence chess with postcards 10m/30d was standard (without transport, incl weekends),now in the web you will see this is much, much to long..

Emne: Time limits
Again to the theme time limits. There is too a possibility of a compromise. You could work with two variables, which the player can choose:

"x moves in y days" and with this method all variants are possible, for instance 1m/7d, 5m/10d or 10m/30d or others

Emne: Re: time limit
Viking, don`t you know a chessclock? A chessclock has one part for every player and runs only if the player has to move. And if the player has moved he pushs a button and only the clock of his opponent runs. So it is clear that you can certainly use the opponents time! For instance in 10moves / 30 days both player has to reach the 10th move until the 30th day is over but every player has the 30 days = 60 days (without weekends). And if you move 3-4 moves a little bit faster you have more time for the rest of the ten moves.Btw this is the regular mode which is used by chessplayers all over the world. In our OTB-Games (this morning I have lost:( ) we play 40 moves / 2 hours and then 1 hour for the rest of the game. That means that the game can run four hours until the first timecontrol (40th move) and after six hours it is over at the latest (today it was earlier) .In fast games we play an half hour in blitzgames 5 minutes (every) for the complete game.

Emne: Re: Time limits
But Whisperz I think that 10 moves in 30 days with the possibility zu accumulate is very long and if I look at my games against you then I remember that you have not needed so a long time for a move. But we have players here who use the timelimits until the last day for every move and this is not funny to wait two weeks or more.I don`t know why it is necessary to offer a time limit with 30 days for a move?
Serious players will be discouraged with such long time offers.Btw we can lead the "multi games" players(300 and more) to play a little bit fewer games, which is good for the weak performance of the Brainking server.

Emne: Time limits
Regarding the discussion about the reformation of the time limits I want to suggest something that I saw at another server:

There are only four possibilities to choose:

1.Blitzgame: 10 moves in five days
2.Fast game :10 moves in 10 days
3.Regular game: 10 moves in 20 days
4.Slow game: 10 moves in 30 days

With weekends, vacation and perhaps with time accumulating the last suggestion seems to be more than enough for slow player too!

Thx harley, I have been joined in the yahoogroup, but I find it better here in BK.In the yahoogroup are only a few members and some pics are only nonsense, they should be deleted. And the playing here could be lesser anonymous.

Emne: Pic in the profile
Perhaps would be useful to have a upload of a small bitmap of the player (max 100kb) in the profile.I see this at the Fritz/Chessbase server and then the playing is more personnally because you see your opponent.

Emne: Board problems
Okay, after the moderator has removed my message from the Gothic Board I have no choice and have to public the message at another position to inform and ask the players. In this message has not been contained some slighting contents ore something, but an issue which is interesting for all players and additionally the moves of a deleted game:

"During my vacation it has been a dataserver crash and one of my game was deleted.
I public now on this way the moves and the position of this game and offer my opponent to continue at the broken position.

I would like to hear the opinions of the other players.Should this game be continued or should it be aborted?"

End of the message!

I propose as first to replace this moderator who tolerates only messages which are good for himself. It was not the first time, that messages are deleted by himself. He is not the owner and he cannot decide about the rules alone.

I propose as second to vote a group of arbiters ,one of every section (chess,checkers,ships.. etc..)which can advice and decide of the majority about contentions between the players. It cannot be that one man alone defines what is to do or not to do.

Emne: Theme tournements in Chess
I suggest to introduce the possibility of theme tournements in chess.
It lets us test some openings like Kingsgambit,French Opening and other special gambits.
And why not in the single games for the waiting room too? Perhaps we can use the game editor?

Emne: PGN-Download
Hi Fencer, the pgn-Format in regular chessgames works correctly and I can play these games for instance with the windboard freeware utility.Naturally we can not play with this utility games on a 10x8 board (only standard chess). Perhaps there is a computerfreak who can produces a pgn-player for 10x8 boards? Best would be with the Gothic and Janus pieces.

Emne: Eventual moves
Fencer, often in chess the sequence of the next moves is clearly evident.
My suggestion for this purpose is to implementate the possibility of a sequence of
eventual moves, that you can offer to your opponent.
This feature could shorten many games. At another server www.kingchess.de(german,only standard chess, brainking is better!)you can look for this feature.

Emne: Time Control
Fencer, I want to suggest to implement two short time controls, (one hour and 30 minutes).
It would allow us to play a fast tournement of one day. Possible?
