lamby ty for the links re day lily pics I love them
---
ok I have something to share with my tree huggin' flower lovin' buddies:
to those who think flowers are cool, here are the cold ones:
all these often grow very early in spring, coming up through the snow.
the 1st four I have seen live.
Foxy Lady: r u joking?ants are cool, but they usually are not a big problem in the garden.do more good than harm.but if you really want to discourage them rather than murdererered them:
Turn ants away from your home by locating the place of entry and squeezing a lemon onto it. Then leave the peel. Ants will also retreat from lines of talcum powder, chalk, damp coffee grounds, bone meal, charcoal dust and cayenne pepper.

Q : What do you get when you cross a cheetah with french fries?
A : FAST FOOD!
Lamby: syrupy orange..clever idea that...if the bugs wont leave stuff alone..divert their attention to something else.
I have to be careful playing backgammon with ScarletRose..she tries to be cute & disctract me from the game..lol
be careful, this happened to my mom friday..wasps are attracted to the wet clothes on the line in this dry weather.
she dropped a towel picked it up..wasp trapped inside it stung her in the arm
Foxy Lady: our weather in richmond hill, ontario has been nuts too. We went from an unseasonably cold wet spring in a snap into hot summer...then we had 13 day heatwave(90-99 F) no rain no wind...now it has turnind cool again
BerniceC: bernice,I saw your email B4 I saw this.answered it with mt snailmail address.I didnt want to post it here.just being cautious, had a stalker-girl once.
sorry about your grapes foxy...I can get strong vinegar.it isefective against some bugs..then I hose off the plants later..it does them no harm.but your bugs I dont know.I would suggest ID the bugs & search online for a natural solution

if you are familiar with them,do you know their are many varieties:
http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/lychee.html#Varieties
this one is great:
'Kwai mi' or 'Kuei Wei', (cinnamon flavor) which came to be called 'Mauritius' is smaller, heart-shaped, with rough red skin tinged with green on the shoulders and usually having a thin line running around the fruit. The seed is small and the flesh very sweet and fragrant. The branches of the tree curve upward at the tips and the leaflets curl inward from the midrib.
I love watermelon too { steve pinches watermelon seeds like tiddywinks..shoots a few at Dolittle & Foxy Lady }

hey, seriously.this is a refreshing treat in summer.
get SEEDLESS green grapes.
wash & separate them.
freeze them, they are like little real fruit popsicles.
there is an lonng abandoned overgrown apple orchard I know.one of the tress, the fruit was weird..after closer idenetification,it turned out to be a quince tree.
oh wow,I love blueberries.there is a provincial park I know.has an area the dept of agro grows concord grapes & cherries.at the right time of year, you can pick as much as you want free.
I have learned of many spots were you can find things growing wild:apples(there are many forgotten/overgrown orchards),cranberries, wild rice, elderberries, ramp, mint, etc
