i am looking for a site where i can buy and sell used books ... dutch books :)
i am looking for rapsodie by elizabeth haydon
(the english version would be rhapsody)
its part 1 of a trilogy of which i already have part 2 and 3 in dutch (publisher: meulenhof)
i might also want to use such a site to sell a book, dragons of autumn twilight by weis end hickman (part 1 of the dragonlance series) .. i had part 1 already, but when i wanted to buy part 2 and 3 the whole trilogy was for sale for a lower price and 2+3 so i bought the trilogy, leaving me with part 1 twice :)
LuckyCat9: Oh heck, I used to know David Icke quite well. He used to be goalkeeper for Hereford, before he worked for the BBC. He was as mad as a box of frogs then.

Hrqls: Books 1-5 in Welsh??? We're still stuck on Harry Potter Maen Y Athronydd (Philosopher's Stone) as far as I know.
That's the one that's even been translated into Latin, Harrius Potter et Philosophi Lapis!
myfanwy: *nod* you are right ... i already didnt post what happens in book 5 .. but i realize the fact itself might be too much already .. and especially the name :)
it made me really get a warm feeling in my stomach .. reminded me of when i was younger (old guy as i am ;)) .. it really made me look forward to the next book ... so i think it was in book 4 ?
harley: hehe that might be a problem i might have as well .. especially when i hear those who already read the book tell me they liked it so much .. i just hope the end wont disappoint me ... as everyone (including the jk rowling) says someone is going to die .. deaths should be described with the correct emotions (ever read george rr martin ?? he rules!! ;))
i am trying to keep myself in hand and be patient .. and not to rush it too much once i have it .. i will try to give myself time to sink into the book once again .. i like it best that way :)
Kata Liana: i like the books because i have my own emotions with them .. movies sometimes force a bit unto you ... but i have to admit the potter movies are great .. almost exactly as i read the books as well .. of course there are bits missing .. but they did a good job .. if you liked the movies then you will like the books as well .. plus the books are ahead of the movies so you can read in advance :)
Hrqls: I have only seen the Harry Potter movies. Are the books good? Are they worth getting? I suppose they are better than the movie, most books usually are.
I bought it and am part way through reading it. So far I think it might even be better than the Order of the Phoenix! But then again, I've had to wait for this book so its much looked forward to and savoured
last week part 6 (Harry Potter and the half blood prince) was for sale in english
the dutch translation wont be out for several months though :( .. i will have to wait until the 9th of november ....
(my mother bought me my first potter book (part 2 which she thought to be part 1 :)) ... she bought it in dutch ... and as i want the series to be complete i am now forced to buy the other parts in dutch as well .. and wait some more time :()
ah well ... at least i still have something to look forward to .. when all the english people are done i can still start and have fun :)
did anyone buy it yet ? finish it yet ? whats your opinion about it ? (and the rest of the series ;))
nobleheart: Those would be great links to post. Let me see if I can find a site that has a bestsellar list that updates weekly and I can provide that information for you. If anyone knows of such a site that I can go to, please let me know. As far as the recommended reading list, I would need everyone's input on that. A lot of people probably would not like my style of books, so my recommended reading would probably not be that great. :)
there are several tv shows we get heere that deal with books.
I have discovered several have there own website & a "recommended reading list"
if anyone is interested,I plan to cut paste some links for myself..i could share.
Eriisa: i read one of the books of the dragon riders of pern ... i somehow didnt borrow the next books though .. was distracted by another author at that time i guess :)
nobleheart: you mean a list of links related to the subjects which are currently discussed ? such a list could be updated about once a week or once a month ?
I think it is a great idea to have a few "subject related links" posted above the books board.
I think it would be a good suggestion for each board to have such a related links list.
Kata Liana: There's an excellent Sci-Fi book out there called "Stranger In A Strange Land" by Robert A. Heinlein -- It's about this guy named Michael Valentine who is born and raised on Planet Mars and then is later brought back to Earth. There's alot to this story -- A great read :)
Andre Faria: I am going to write those down. I think "Brida" sounds really interesting, that will probably be the one I get first. Thanks for some ideas and some other authors.
