Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board! If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.
Have you ever seen Pogo.com? It is littered with games that draw a huge dice-loving American participation. It is also littered with advertisements. Brainking seemed like a strategy-based site two years ago. It offered classic games worth studying and competing in. The more that brainking tries to add, the weaker and less-focused it will become.
I propose that we have another discussion board for reporting access failures of the brainking site and exceptionally slow uploading. I've been unable to get onto the site for five minutes (again!). Lately, many people have reported how slow brainking has been over the past ten days. I think it is a symptom of a larger problem. This whole site seems like it is ready to crash
MadMonkey: That is just like the Big Boss taking on captain on all teams. I saw that with a fellowship recently, and the Big Boss gets overwhelmed with many teams to answer and challenge for, even up to two or three dozen teams. I wonder why so many players on a team with no captain refuse to take on even one captainship. I recently took on several teams as captain, even teams I was not playing on before, just because of the apathy among the players. It is hard to understand teams of five or six players and no captain.
I would like to see a "Private Tournament list", like our "Friends list", where we can add players for future private tournament invitations. Often I play certain fast-playing amiable players of the sort that I would like to invite to private tournaments. It would be nice to be able to add them to this sort of list. As it is now, it is very time-consuming to personally invite certain players to a private tournament. Also, it is impossible to remember all of the potential players that one would like to invite. An option when creating a private tournament could be: "Invite the members of my Private Tournament list". Then you could check the boxes next to the names of the individuals that you would like to invite, so it is more of a one-step process..... Under each player's profile, where it says "Add this person to my Friends list", we could have a box saying "Add this person to my Private Tournament list."
On each person's Profile page there is a link for stairs, that leads to a list of one's own stairs that they are involved in.
I request that a dot appear to the left of the type of stairs that a player is currently playing a match on. That way, one can quickly look at their Stairs list and see which stairs they are currentlly not actively playing on.
This is helpful in making it easier for each player to keep active on the stairs.
But random is the best for everyone, if fairness is truly a factor. I actually will only play people lately if it is random. That's what is good about team tournaments. It feels random. I wonder when we'll have another team tournament
jadarite: I agree completely. This has already largely become a "lonely hearts" site for backgammon players. Youtube is not a game... It's already an established hobby on a different kind of site.
Fencer: My average changed three times today. But I don't understand programming.
I guess the reason for the request, and my earlier request for a horizontal red line on graphs indicating the average BKR, is that I often wonder if I am playing above or below my own average. With some game graphs it is difficult to tell just at a glance. I acknowledge that this is only a minor request, reinforcing the depth that brainking offers in terms of statistics.
I love the statistics portion of the gameplay on this site.
Speaking of that, I noticed that Recycle Chess just moved about twenty notches on the list of running games after the Invitational tournament I set up just started. It is interesting to see the difference that one tournament can have on the popularity of a game. I hope that at least one fellowship creates a Recycle chess team so that "Le" Club will have another team to have a match with. Our team is ready for a match, but there is no one to play!

On Fellowship pages, in the team box for each game type, I suggest that we add a line that says "number of running team matches". That way, a captain or Big Boss can easily see if a certain team is actually actively playing in a match, or if it has been neglected . Then the number should be a link, so that when you click on the number of running team matches a list of the running matches are listed. That way, a captain can easily see if they are already playing a match with a certain team, so they don't challenge them twice. Or they can quickly see which fellowship team they are not playing, so they quickly know who to challenge.
I propose that Fencer charges differently for memberships. I suggest more of a breakdown, where vacation days cost extra, weekend days cost extra, and a paired-down rook membership without those extra days costs less.
BIG BAD WOLF: True, true. Is the reason why some people might not have the Javascript feature on because it is slower with it on? Why wouldn't they have it on?
For those of you who didn't get that, just go to Team tournaments, and put your cursor over the name of the team in a particular tournament. Without clicking, it will give you the results of each member of the team for a particular tournament game.
mctrivia: I agree. Mctrivia, I'd like to say, after one and a half bottles of cheap Italian wine and a Fellini film, that your attitude has always impressed me. You are a good person.

In four hours, in the Czech Republic, it will be April 2nd. I hope that the banner at the top of the main page will be gone by tomorrow. www.getridofit.cz
Most people access data like "finished games" when when checking out people's profiles. That information is still easy to access without scrolling down even with the large picture.
On the javascript settings, there is an option for "show large icon on profile page". I always wondered why the large icon was not shown even though I chose the option to show it.
When people want to see a "Description" on the profile page, they would still have to scroll down anyway.
Well, it is an option in Settings. I think it looks better that way, but I have my option in Settings set to have it bigger. If someone thought that it took up too much space, then they could always choose not to have the large image displayed.
I thought of that. My girlfriend is Ultramarine on this site, although she rarely plays. I would mention in my Profile that Ultramarine is my girlfriend. It would still be fairer to people who might want to play Go with her. If they suspected that I was Ultramarine, then they could choose not to play her. My issue is with people on Waiting Games that look like new players, but are really highly skilled, with multiple identities. There are also certain players that have thousands of games, then also play under different names too. If I knew a little more about the players that I am about to engage, I would refrain from playing them. Also, it would be interesting for everyone to see the connections between players, even if they are family members. I don't think that family members should play online for ratings anyway.
I request that players using the same IP address should have a message at the bottom of their profile page, in red, that says: "Player names that are using the same IP address:" ... then a shortlist of other player names are listed.

I request that when we choose (in Settings) to "show a big picture on profile icons", that the big picture is always shown on our profile page without having to click on it to make it bigger. It looks much nicer bigger.
It would be nice to see a vast selection of smileys somewhere in the settings page, then be able to choose the ones that show up when we want to use one.
I will never use some of the smileys that we have, but I miss some of the ones I used to see and no longer have as an option.
For a long time I have not been clear on the problem concerning autopass, the necessity, or the proposed solutions. But I THIRD McTrivia's suggestion, just to make the debate over more quickly.

Fencer: A lot of us use laptops, so there is no mousewheel.
Is it possible to have a hotkey, like "Enter" as an addition to the "Submit Move" button, so you don't have to move your button, but we can still move by pressing Enter (or maybe spacebar)?
emmett: My situation is that I am captain on four teams, and I want to always accept challenges. But I want my game filter to be set so that no one can send me personal, one-on-one challenges. Is that how it is working now?
Regarding the new Games filter, where a player can challenge you to a game: Does this affect captains of teams for team challenges?
For example, if a captain of a team has his/her settings so that no one can challenge him/her as an individual in any game, does this also affect whether any team can challenge that person if they are a captain?
MadMonkey: I've suggested replacing "Match Type" and "Time Control" too. Looking at a long list of finished matches, that information isn't as pertinent as who actually won. I suggested the red dot this time because I thought it was another way to approach the problem.
At the bottom of a fellowship page there is a list of finished matches. Scrolling down it, there is no way to tell who won or lost.
I request that we have a red dot next to an opposing team name if they won on the list of finished matches on the fellowship page. That, or something more explicit, would be helpful to establish successes and failures at a glance.
