ScarletRose: I dont know if they grow anywhere else in the world but they only seem to grow in the Kimberlies which is very arid area....I must do a search on where they do grow :)
perhaps i should have said PALM FRONDS...not leaves.
same difference and still a damn nuisance
I picked up 3 yesterday and 2 of them i had to drag as they were so heavy i couldnt lift them.
they are about 12 years old all my palms so they are huge now
I went out to get Vern meds and came home and parked the car in the driveway...
went and closed the gates so the dawg dint get out....
turned round and there was the BIGGEST brown snake I have ever seen looking at me...:(
he was at least 5 foot long and about as thick as my wrist...
he looked at me an run for his life back to the neighbour he came from LOLOL....he was thinking.."this ugly old bag i do not need" hehehehe
God it was frighteneing I dint want m dog to experience that LOLOLOL
skipinnz: Im not Rose either LOLOL....but you only put them in the fridge if you live in the tropics as I do :) it lets them think they are asleep and they will sprout as soon as you put them in the ground. NZ (not the alps where there is snow) could be either in the fridge or in dampened sawdust/woodshavings :)
Darn....cant find anything that says they will eat you if you stand still long enough hehehehe....but they do have a nasty bite...so perhaps i could be wrong :(...OH well try the sugar filled container FOXY and good luck :)
We have meat ants in Aussie...If you stand still long enough they will eat ya. TRUE....will look up a link for all
My advice is attract them to something else...put down a container and fill it with sugar....they will like that better than your grape vine let me tell ya :)
nobleheart: Hello farmer sam LOLOL.....well you wont be getting anything shortly.....I asked you for a music preference and that was a real request. You named some people that Australia has never heard of...You see I send the seeds in a CD container and will not waste CD, postage or time on crap....oops....thats good for the garden isnt it.....sorry....
let me know your preference of music...country or what.....remember Im an older woman....and if you really were serious about getting these seeds you could send me $10 australian to cover it LOLOLOL
if you had a moth ball in each hand....what have you got....
a whopping great moth LOL
sorry Foxy.
Be careful with moth balls that kids dont pick them up thinking they are lollies...very dangerous....try naphthalene flakes..safer...I use them in my garden shed to stop cockroaches and mice....it works well :)
I have at the moment....Grapes, Passion Fruit, Bananas, PawPaws, and in the past have grown every concievable vegie know to the aussie world. People said I couldnt do it in the tropics, but my god Ive had some fab vegies over the years:)
Dont bother too much now as Im too busy with Vern and here and work and etc etc LOLOL
Do have a great herb garden tho :)
Foxy Lady: yes they do die...but are very quick to shoot anew :)...I have about 4-5 at the moment with only the one with bananas on it.
My passionfruit is going beserk this year again and they are hanging like bunches of grapes hahahah....i couldnt get rid of them all last year and this year will be the same :)
Concord? never heard of them, but no doubt being grapes they will be delicious :)
I just love grapes.
I have another whopping big bunch of bananas on my banana palm...this will be even bigger than the last one Im thinking....will get pics if I remember LOL
The Neem seeds are used in India? for making all sorts of things . The oil is very expensive, but they also make flour, and all sorts of pastes to eat.
I have recently had a very large Neem tree in my yard die....it isnt impervious to all bugs unfortunately:(
If need be I can give pics to show you :)
nobleheart: Dont you want the seeds?
I copy/pasted your email and sent you an email and you havent had the decency to reply....that was hours ago :(
sorry if im sounding cranky, but....:(
well all I can say is that Both Bwildman and Dolittle seed were in the fridge previously to being sent to them...Bwildman hasnt done anything with his and Dolittle has 4 plants peeping thru :)
Dolittle: Patience is a virtue,
possess it if you can,
always found in woman,
never found in man.
hehehehe
put the pot in the shed and forget about it lOLOL....god knows how long....I just threw mine in the ground and hoped for the best....it could take weeks because of the difference in temperatures :)
Foxy Lady: I have a Muscat grape growing and this is the 2nd year and I actually got a bunch of grapes HAHAHAHA...it had 10 grapes on it ROFLMBO...but god they tasted beautiful :)
cant wait for next year lOLOL
I hope yours are more successful Foxy:)
skipinnz: You are correct....I have seen where the tops have been cut and they spread rather than grow tall. I havent cut mine as yet because we are still getting fruit from the top :)
and yes a tin or plastic bucket over the top to prevent water getting in and rotting same :)
Had the BIG party on Sat night and today went for luch with my GF and her hubby and of course Vern...It was nice.....
So as to make thins as NOT OFF TOPIC....she gave me an aged bottle of whiskey/scotch, which I will plant and see if I can get seedlings hehehehe...
nobleheart: One of australia's top sportsmen had gotten overweight in the off season and put himself on the frozen grape diet....yep he only ate frozen grapes for however long and lost weight...I havent tried it because Im a guts and like to put 2-3 in my mouth at a time LOLOL,
ewwwwww.... I found this...dont sound to appetising
With the grape cure eat black or purple grapes. Eat them with skins and pips. Preferably chew some of the pips to release their antioxidants. Soak the grapes with the addition of some hydrogen peroxide to kill and remove any fungi.
Eat about 1 kg daily according to appetite. If a temporary aversion to grapes develops, have a few days of juices with plenty of beetroot in-between. Eat only a few grapes at a time to avoid a strong rise in the blood sugar level. Be very careful to store grapes cool and dry, a good way is to hang them over a washing line in a garage.
Foxy Lady: I live in Mango country :) well all tropical fruit grows here LOL...I just love slurping on watermelon...seedless....wonderful...have never bothered juicing them....
Foxy Lady: UMMM Foxy Lady...2 pomegranate having ---????OMG...Im thinkingof things in my own garden ???
My partner Vern does all my gardening and digs/clips/mows/mulches?...we dont have pemogranate...but the --- is good :)....it must be .....all my veg grow well...so do the fruit? LOL NANA's good and also PawPaw's..
ummm have I lost the
Further to posts below on PawPaw seed sent to Bwildman and Dolittle.....well Dolittle has received hers already :)
thank god the Customs in USA are not as vigilant as i would have thought LOLOL......Im hoping to hear Bwild has gotten his shortly :)
Foxy Lady: well I dont think so as they say it may go pink :( The lemon takes the real sweet taste of the banana off....I might add that when you boil all that together it gets VERY thick...you spread it like peanut butter...it is that sort of consistency
Субъект: Re: I would love to get some spores for the tasmanian tree fern
skipinnz: we have just finished the Biggest bunch of Bananas we have ever had....we had to give most of them away in fact because as one ripens so do all the rest :(
Yesterday i made banana bread and Banana Jam...Ive never heard of Banana Jam before and Im not to sure if I like it....But my partner says it is alright so looks as tho he gets to eat it lOLOL
Субъект: Re: I would love to get some spores for the tasmanian tree fern
nobleheart: are you sure that is the Tassie tree fern? its trunk is a bit thin...
have a look at this site...it is fairly comprehensive and you will see what I mean about the trunks.
