happy hermit: Okay Eric, I'll take you on. But you won't be giving me any points if I win (1 or 2 perhaps). You really need to do something about your 1851 rating, so good luck and you might grab yourself a handful
It took me many games to earn a BKR over 2000 and #1. I have never turned down an invite, so if anyone fancies their chances, just send an invite. All I ask is that you move once a day (on average).
If you don't rush your moves I'll try and have my rating over 2000 before our game finishes . . . I can probably do that by challenging Nothingness to a bunch of games. :)
BTW - I see you are playing tenuki . . . I am curious how those turn out. He and I used to play a lot of Dark Chess at IYT years ago and I am curious how his skill set translates to Sabotage.
happy hermit: poor Nothingness, he too has worked hard on his ratings!
Tenuki has over 1000 games on the go, and we are just in the opening moves. Probably finish at the end of next year! If you look at his ratings though, he is at or near the top of many strategy games! So I'm not underestimating him!
It took some time and convincing since I don't own a credit card and had already asked my guy to get into paypal to buy me a membership for IYT when I played there, (and as a result I'd rush into internetcafes on holidays to make tournamentmoves) and now he had to get an account at alertpay. But now I'm a Rook on 'PainKing' as my guy calls it and can join multiple tournaments
SL-Bosse: Something went wrong... It has already started. The plan is as I wrote that it should starts on the 1st of September, but I must has made a mistake. I will try to change the name on that tournament to #0, and set up a new tournament with #1.
No, I have put a start date on the 1st of September, so I think it will not start before that date. Otherwise it should already started, because the minimum players is 4.
I think, tournament can start immediately when maximum limit of players is signed for tournament. In this case there isnt any maximum limit, so tournament will start 1.9.
were going to be in a lot of games in this one from what i can see. we will have to play 4players at once. Each section is very large! i prefer single elimination.
Nothingness: Ok, I did as you wrote. I has invited Tony and wrote about Sabotage Leauge and the tournament on that board. In beginning of the week I also sent invitations to 15-20 players, and a lot of them has now joined the tournament. Sabotage Leauge - Open Fast Espionage - # 1 I hope that some more people can try to invite players.
dAGGER: I sent them an invitation earlier this week, but so far they are not in the tournament. Maybe it will help if some more players send them messages.
ok... umm this is going to be one of the most competitive tournaments of all time! I'm really pumped but how does an unseeded player with 1 game played get a #1 seed hmmm! Whats the difference i'm psyched to play!
yes, very competitive tournament.Would be perfekt when Pedro Martinez, david upshaw, ouna, AMTLatham, tenuki, Nuno Miguel, Bobes and creepingdoom join too.
Styleone: Some other noteworthy exceptions, such as yourself, Sandoz, dAGGER, The Other Me, Tian Xian. Sadly all pawns and tied up in the Small Fast tournament.
As of this post we have 26 players. right now it seems as if there will be around 6 sections of 4+ players which is very nice. unless we get 4 more players (30).
After a small delay Sabotage Leauge - Open Fast Espionage - # 1 has started. One player hadn't enough of space for the tournament so it ends up with 25 players in 5 groups. Thanks to every one who signed up in the tournament and GOOD LUCK!!!
Субъект: please welcome the new mod for this board
Chaos has agreed to moderate this discussion board! I am happy to see the activity here recently and am happy to see an active player step up to be the mod.
it makes me think.....I've perused one or 2 other discussion boards and some of them seem to be full of kids arguing ,calling each other names and the like.It makes me wonder ,does sabotage/espionage attract an older player group?Seems to be that way at least from the pictures I remember from all the ones who sent their pictures in.Hey Chaos, you didn't happen to save those pictures did you?Or anyone else?Shame that MSN closed their groups section and that was lost.
Celticjim: no, the pictures have not been saved... The League was fading at the time and I wasn't sure if people wanted me to keep pictures if the group didn't exist anymore.
I doremember that at IYT the messageboards were closed because of the awful namecalling getting out of hand. In the mean time the sabotageboard was peacefully used by enthousiast Leaguers for setting up tournaments, analysing strategies and 'heavy' discussions like what our rankingsystem should look like. We had a lot of voting on various issues in those days. We did have a short period were politics somehow sneaked it's way in for some strange reason, creating a lot of uproar with violent words spoken. Luckily it was over fast without leaving any hard feelings.

Chaos:
Perhaps someone can make a Sabotage League group on one of the social networking sites if anyone is interested in pictures.
I remember the ranking discussions. :) I remember trying to figure out to explain to moonhippie that he really had no way of determining who was a stronger player between Jozsef and Limbaugh . . . all he knew was they could both beat him. I eventually gave up.
Субъект: Re: Sabotage Leauge - Open Fast Espionage - # 1
SL-Bosse: so hows everyone getting on LOL-some surprises out there? come on lets go,move people.See people on here all day long but they stopped moving *sigh* one thing that really puts me off
