It's not wise to make ridiculous statements about "changing rules" only because you didn't pay enough attention to the particular tournament time control before.
Moreover, it's really not funny anymore to write about "people are leaving". Everybody with a basic knowledge of the internet and its way of working knows that there is no site where people would stay forever. I agree there are some peak moments and performance issues but it's just a normal consequence of any significant system change.
