You can go to the players list: http://brainking.com/en/PlayerList?a=ap

There, you can click on the headers and easily see how many people have logged into the site in the past XXX time frame

Aganju: Not looking at any particular time frame, actually. I'll more or less sign up for anything, unless the tournament is designed to take decades.

You're probably right that large tournaments might have a periodic impact on the level of activity, but my hunch is based on long time observations anyway. It just feels like the number of "usual suspects" has decreased.

pedestrian: Which time frame are you looking at with that statement?
When I joined in July, I went into any tournament I could find. After a while, I had over 600 running games, so I slowed down considerably. Then, Adventure X and the Continental Championships started, which gave me 800 more games, so I even removed myself from some pending tournaments.
My point: can such large tournaments make the kind of impact you see?
Once I get back down under 500 games, I will start joining again, and maybe many others too?

Of course BK has not 100000 active distinct users. Nobody thought that.
You believe that FaceBook has 800000000 active distinct users??

I'd be curious to know how many of the 100,000 users have logged in in the last week, month, and year (or maybe six months). Seems like that would give the best indicator of just how many users there are here.

On the log in page, it says 99,997 registered players.
So, I thought that was neat, someone pretty soon, is going to be registered user # 100,000

However, when looking at the player list, as of right now, when I'm typing this, the most recent new user is user #100,103

I assumed it would match up. Just curious why it doesn't?

Interesting, though, that you won't see him complaining about THAT here… he will complain about running out of time (claiming it's a bug), other people sending him unpleasant messages (claiming they are harassing him), and whatnot, but NOT about an obvious bug he must have noticed…

Nothingness: I assume this is the tournament you are talking about:

Back*turnajek

It has a time control of 30 days per move. With weekend days, that is 6 weeks per move, so there is no reason for him to lose vacation days.

It is ridiculous to have a tournament with time controls that long....

I'm involved in a tournament where one individual has not made their fist move yet in over a month. They are on Auto vacation mode and their alloted amount of vacation has not gone down each day, it stays the same and they still have not even been logged in since October. is this a glitch? also does auto vacation ever deduct if i move in some games and not in others? if i have 30 days and i move in 3 of my 5 games will i still lose a day? since i did not move in those two games?

ok, so maybe I've just never noticed this before. If I have online players, and I choose one of those to start, it always goes to the next online player. And if I run out of online players, it goes to the main page. Then if I start playing off line players, it goes to the next offline. hmmm. I've never noticed it before but I'm usually zoning out and watching TV as I play.
