Bernice: SB scores are worked out for individual sections of round robin tournaments and don't apply to individual games. They are a way of deciding what to do when there's a tie and can't be used to compare performance in different tournaments nor to track progress over time.
In your May Flame Pit Dice Poker tournament, you and Bwild both got 3 points, so the winner of the section/tourney is decided by the quality of your wins, which your SB score tries to measure. The 3 opponents that you beat managed to score 1+1+2=4 points between them. But the opponents that Bwild managed to beat scored 3+1+2=6 points between them. So Bwild's wins are judged to be more impressive than yours (since 6 > 4), so he gets awarded the top spot.
Pedro Martínez: (1) How would cd power know I'd pointed out the rule to Zach then? I was guessing he had special status, rather than everyone could see the comments. (2) Why do you think that? Apart from one stone on my 1-point (which can't move) all other stones are behind a six prime, so can't move either. Please explain how you interpret the rule.
cd power: Thanks for finding this game - it's exactly the one I've been trying to find. Zach was very good about this game. He was about to win by just one roll, but because he had delayed unblocking by one roll earlier on, he offered a draw. So this shows it can affect the outcome - it doesn't just apply to hopelessly lost cases that don't matter.
(I didn't realise that you could read all our in-game comments - is that some special privilege you have?)
Aganju: I've found that most people are happy to play by the rules and have moved when it's been pointed out to them. If someone is refusing to abide by the rules and thinks it's OK because the programming lets them, then it ruins the tourny in my opinion. I'd message Fencer with the game id, point out that you've referred your opponent to the rules but they won't abide by them and ask Fencer to end the game in your favour.
Aganju: Yes, it's also been working fine for me in the UK throughout the past few days as well. It's very mysterious how it affects some people but not others, with seemingly no geographical pattern to it.
happyjuggler0: You might decide it's not worth using up lots of vacation to save one or two games from timing out, when you might need the vacation later in the year to save many more games from timing out. This could happen if you're desperately trying to finish your games before going away, but due to a slow player or two, you don't quite make it.
lsmiles44:There are several ways: 1. You can choose one from the list of "Waiting games" on the main menu 2. Or go to "New game" and choose a game to add to waiting games list for others to accept 3. Click on a player's profile and invite them to a particular game 4. Post what you'd like to play on here and I'm sure someone will invite you, to get you started
Herlock Sholmes:That would be the case if all 64 pieces were unique, but they're not here. I haven't got time now to come up with what I think is the right answer, but it will be lower than (8^57)x 7! = 1.5 x 10^55
DeaD man WalkiN: Ah, that seems more reasonable. Not sure about the number 10 though. 6 out my 27 games this year have finished in under 10 moves, so I'd suggest a target of 7 or 8 moves as a worthy achievement. My shortest game was a loss in 6 moves, but I'd rather forget that. (Bad loss)
DeaD man WalkiN: I don't suppose so in general. For example, all Cheversi games will be won in 8 moves exactly! There might be for some other games though, I suppose?
Bernice:Can get in OK, but it's v-e-r-y s-l-o-w from England at the moment. There's lots of waiting for white screens to change into something more useful! But the site has been really good for me for ages now, so I guess I was due a blip in performance.
rod03801: I had exactly the same thing happen on a different site. I'd paid instantly with PayPal for ages and then suddenly they switched me over to e-cheque and I had to wait a week for clearance and didn't receive my son's birthday present in time. I'd changed my PayPal status to "verified" at about the same time, so it might have something to do with that. I had no warning though, same as you. Hope you manage to sort it out.
