NO prize other than bragging rights should you be the final winner for one or more game type. I have created non-prize tourneys in the past so familiar with them, was not familiar with how to create a prize tourney when providing one prize. Very sorry for the confusion happening with the prize tourney I created - should be no such confusion on this one!
get the prize tournament I set up set up correctly for one prize being given away. It will either be random between the games showing at this time or will be totally backgammon as that is what the most people have signed up for (majority rules in this case)
following tourney is set up correctly so that the ONE one year Brain Rook membership that I have provided as the prize will be awarded, please let me know. I want it run with the games I have listed but am not sure if it should have been set up random with those games or if it is currently set up correctly to give out one prize. I also need to know for certain if it MUST have 128 players before it starts or if it will start with less, if necessary. I meant for it to be set up with a maximum of 128 players per game.
májinka: I don't think you'll ever get 64 to play C6. The biggest C6 tournies I remember are a 30 and a 23... I think there was a bigger one that was limited to lower BKRers, but it wasn't at 64. I think you would be hard pressed to get 32 for something like this...
This is a 128 player tournie (I assume it will start on the start date of December 14, 2007 even if there are not enough players by then to fill certain types of games) single elimination tournie with each match consisting of a single game (if I have misread any part of what is listed on the actual page for the tournie, will someone please let me know how it is actually set up?)
The good news is that I AM totally certain about the fact that the prize is for a 1 year Brain Rook.
Ämne: Tournament Tournament and yet more Tournaments
I haven't been making as many tournaments lately, and it seems like whenever I turn around someone will ask me if I'm still doing them. Well there are some more Fast Start - First 5 to sign start up right now to start over the next 5 days.
Great way to play games you might not be very good at without an expert ready to kill you in 3 moves.
Starts in about 1 month. Before the tournament starts, I will go through and try to remove anyone who is WAY over the 1500 limit since ratings can change between now & then.

Ämne: Re: how do I pay for a prize for a tournie....
MadMonkey:
I have done that - just wish there had been a way to message fencer at the time I made the payment, I used the "paypal donate" button and did not notice a way to message during the process of paying. Might have been there and just did not notice - anything is possible with my brain LOL
I created? I have a tournie slated to start on December 14, 2007 and am having trouble figuring out how to pay for it and have it become the prize for the tournie. Can anyone help me with figuring this out?
coan.net: Very good point, I never considered that! I like the idea too, I personally would love to play in a random line tourney. In fact, speaking about random line tournies...
rednaz23: I have thought about that also - but the issue with that is since a fellowship can only have 1 random team, for example if there is an "all game" random tournament, my gammon cube fellowship probable would not get a random team together - but if there is a random gammon site tournament, players may already be another fellowships team. (another example, if there was a random boats tournament & a random gammon tournament - I would have to debate which fellowship team to join - a gammon fellowship or boat fellowship)
Anyway, point being it could be hard for some fellowships to get teams together - that is would be very hard to do more then 1 random tournament in the same "batch" of tournaments.... but spread apart to give time for players to switch fellowship teams - yup, great idea.
Tanien, coan.net, or Fencer: Some different types of random game team tournies could be done. For instance random tournies in: chess, checkers, lines, dice, backgammon, reversi, ships, etc... I think there would be a great demand from some of these fellowships that specialize in those areas. ;-) Hope you consider it!
If I am creating a prize tourney, how do I turn excess brains I have into a knight prize or a rook prize?
I know a knight is worth 300 brains, and I believe a rook is worth 500 brains... but how do I get the brains into the prize, and then allocated to a specific tourney?
coan.net: I use a Gateway with Windows Vista. Is it possible this could be part of the problem? I see that other tournaments are set up with max values other than 20, but I used to be able to set it before there were changes made here that increased the max value to more than 8.
Puckish: Well, when it's tied it goes by S-B points. Basically, the points of the people she beat are added up, and the points of the people you beat are added up. She won against the people who won the most.
Pioneer54: Yea, I remember that as an issue. May I ask what browser you are using? Firefox, IE, etc..? It works for me - Windows XP with Firefox browser
coan.net: Well, that's what I thought too, but it isn't working. I set up a tournament and entered 7 for the max value, but when I created it, it showed 20; so I edited it, and got a message that an administrator would have to approve it. Several hours went by, and it wasn't changed, so I edited it again. That was a few days ago, and it is still 20!!?
Pioneer54: When creating a tournament, you can set it anywhere between 5 and 20.
Taking a look at an already created tournament, I see the option to change it from anywhere between 5 and 20 (even though some changes may or may not need to be approved before they actually take - I can not remember since I've never tried to change an already created tournament.)
ThankYouMySponsor!!! I need 4 players to start each game of this tournament, especially look where you see 2 or 3 players, please! I´ll decide playing myself where it is necessary, at the last hour. If you help me now, I´ll try to help starting your tournaments. I had a reason to start all games and I am in the trouble now.
