The Original Flame Pit invites you to join our growing group. The fellowship has been around a long time and has some interesting post in the early days of BK. The main board is for chat and is lightly moderated, while the second board, The Steam Room, is for venting and the like and is only moderated in extreeme situations. I've just added another room, The Smoke House, for bloviating, pontificating, and scintillating revilements. In other words, for blowing smoke. Hope you will join up and check it out. Either way, good gaming to you!
Jules: The fellowship membership collectively decided that I should NOT delete previous posts. But since it's a private fellowship, I don't see how it's a matter for public discussion. I hope this matter will be dropped.
Oceans Apart: If it's still under the account they are still using. For example, this current account is different from my AD account. So any posts under AD I couldn't touch (except if I'm BB....hey wait, I am!) ;)
But as a regular member of a board, you can delete any post of your own no matter how old. I may see if I can delete the whole database anyway.
Stevie: Nothing has been deleted in the Pit since I took over. You know that. People can still "take it to" the Pit like before. The Gripes board has been changed to The Steam Room, to stay consistent with the theme. I'd not worry about anything until you actually see huge changes.
And everyone knows that what really keeps things off the boards are good moderating and the fear of being hidden or banned. But you could always open another fs (as if it's needed) and see what happens. Like the movie says: If you build it, they will come. Except in this case it's more like: If you build it, will they come.
BIG BAD WOLF: I think they should be deleted if they are inactive for a period of time. They just clutter the fellowship list and make it less likely people will find the fellowship they like simply because there are too many dead one to wade through. ;)
I'm going to be running a Rook Prize Tourney in the fellowship, Friendly Faces. I want to give any of you that aren't members there a chance to join the fellowship so you can also be in the tourney if you're interested. ;) Welcome one and all. ;)
The game will be Ludo. I picked that so that it will even the playing field so more people have chances of winning. It will be a 5 day tourney.
rednaz23: I think it's a good idea to replace a MIA Big Boss. ;) How depends on the situation. If there is no clear BB designee, then it should be up for grabs IMO ;)
If you need a fellowship flag, I will try to make one for you. Other's on BK can make them too. It's fun for me so no worries. Send me a PM and tell me what you want. I'll make a few and you can choose.
The following fellowship flags are NOT to be downloaded. They were made for other fellowships. I post them to give you and idea of what I've done for others. ;)
If you don't have one and need help making one, I can help out. Just PM me. ;) They are relatively easy to make and I like doing it. My fee is reasonable - free. ;)
Bloviating Blog To bloviate is to discourse at length in a pompous or boastful manner; to speak or write verbosely and windily.
Etymology: perhaps irregular from blow To bloviate is to get on one's soapbox and lecture, talk big, sound off, objurgate, talk wildly. A blog is where one would author an online diary or chronology of thoughts. That's what this fellowship is all about.
But inevitably discussion follow. If you're interested in discussions on What Is Truth and other philosophical pursuits, if discussing the impossibility of the actual infinite interests you, or if you want to pontificate about your favorite pet peeve, come join.
if there are any math wizards out there it would be interesting to get your thoughts on actual infinites. My position is that the concept is interesting in theory, impossible as a reality. join up!
To bloviate is to harangue, hold forth, inveigh, lecture, mouth, orate, perorate, proclaim, rail, rant, recite, soapbox*, speak, spiel*, spout*, talk big* -- Let your thoughts be known.
