Isn't Nomad co-moderator, anymore? I hope is everything allright with him! Anyway... I'm still available to be co-mod in this board. As it looks that a lot of people agrees with that...
B L I T Z M E: Unfortunatelly, I only know Moseyev. And some portuguese players, but they play Portuguese (Spanish? Classic?) Checkers. Anyway, I believe that, in general, it's difficult to compare players from different centuries / decades. And, usually, youngsters are better than the eldest, because they have all the background that was builded for the others!
Hey, this is not about checkers, but it's about this board. Can any of our moderators explain me how can someone be moderator of this board? I think it would be nice if we could vote for our moderators... Of course, Purple is a very active moderator, but I think Ustica or nomad aren't so useful, like moderators. Maybe we could vote for another checker player to moderate this board. What do you think about it?
Andre Faria: Indeed! I've seen a few games of some of the best checkers players here (purple, ustica, pinchitos...) and they used that technic in their games! I still don't know exactly how it works, besides I've readen carefully undertaker's article!
"Have Fun": Eheh... I remember that. It needs pacience, but it's possible! Gothik checkers have much more possibilities than any other variants, so it's always hard to say it is a draw. I think it is only a draw in a 1-1 situation.Well, there are another possibility, in a 2-2 situation, but it's not fair to tell you wich, since the game is not finished yet. ;)
Purple: That's right... in IYT, they had the rule (a fair rule, indeed) of the same board for the 3rd move, gives a draw. We could suggest it to Fencer!
Andre Faria: It happenned to me too, and Fencer have done the same. I think it depends on the knowledge of Fencer about the game. For players who really know, for example, anti-checkers game, it's easy to know when it is a draw. To people who doesn't know so much the game, they might think it is not a draw. I'm thinking in a 4-2 situation, that it's clearly a draw, if the 2 pieces are together (and the defender s a good player)...
Andre Faria: We both know 3 of them... I don't know if you can recognize them, Andre! You haven't been so many years in IYT as I've been, but I'm sure you've already played against them!
Bruno Jesus: Take care with your considerations... they use to ban people that makes questions/considerations or other types of thaughts... as I said before, Mr. Purple is not an European, and we must forgive him... USA has less than 300 years, europe more than 3000 years of civilization...
Does anyone knows if Moiseyev plays here? I would really like to play a game with him!
Another question, does anyone knows the history of Gothik Checkers? It looks to me a more evoluted game, but the name suggests it should be an older game.
Did someone get hurted with my "erased words"?
I'm just looking for some answers!
I want to know if some "stories" I've been heard are true or false. It looks like they are true!
