This place amazes me, in a BAD way sadly these days.
I have a friend who i made a Bishop for a while to see if he liked it here. He did and wanted to get a life membership ( Black Rook ), but has no PayPal account and a wire transfer will cost a fortune on top. He has asked for help from Fencer and although Fencer did reply, he has got know where. So sadly now him and his friends (who have the same problem) are now leaving BrainKing.
Myself and harley created Customer Service years ago for this or anything to sort problems out and answer questions, to help people, this seems to have all but vanished along with Customer Service.
This is not a dig a Globs, but at everything this site is becoming. I love this place and have done since i joined over 5 years ago.
In those days you could post on boards and get a friendly answer in minutes. These days you are lucky to get and answer, and if you do it is not exactly helpful or understanding. As has proved AGAIN over the last few days, an argument starts.
It comes to something when we can not even help others sort problems out. I thought getting members and therefore generating income would be of vital importance to running a site like this.
MadMonkey: (Just commenting on the Customer Service bit) Just because Customer Service isn't around any more, doesn't mean people can't send you money for you to pay for their BK accounts using your PayPal account. All it takes is for them to trust you enough to send you the money. There are people who I used to pay accounts for until they finally got old enough to have a credit card and a PayPal account. And I only became a Customer Service Representative after that... but the principle still holds - everytime someone contacts me on how to purchase a membership I explain how to use PayPal and in the end, offer my services as a last resort...
pauloaguia: I do not see why someone in the states should have to send me (in England) money, it may as well go straight to Fencer
There was until a while ago a list of people in various countries, where what you suggest could be done making it easy. Sadly, that is now gone. They have not got a PayPal account for a valid & personal reason, yet because of this they can not get there membership, and so leaving, because no one has the time to help them with there problem.
i have done my bit, keeping them here, even paying for them to try out membership, maybe i should just buy there Black Rook for them as well
MadMonkey: Stupidly enough I didn't even consider the possibility that you weren't on the same country Yes, it would probably be just as expensive to send the money to Fencer in that situation then... or maybe you know some other member in the states that could help them out too (and is trustworthy of course)
