Puckish: Well, when it's tied it goes by S-B points. Basically, the points of the people she beat are added up, and the points of the people you beat are added up. She won against the people who won the most.
coan.net: I use a Gateway with Windows Vista. Is it possible this could be part of the problem? I see that other tournaments are set up with max values other than 20, but I used to be able to set it before there were changes made here that increased the max value to more than 8.
If I am creating a prize tourney, how do I turn excess brains I have into a knight prize or a rook prize?
I know a knight is worth 300 brains, and I believe a rook is worth 500 brains... but how do I get the brains into the prize, and then allocated to a specific tourney?
Tanien, coan.net, or Fencer: Some different types of random game team tournies could be done. For instance random tournies in: chess, checkers, lines, dice, backgammon, reversi, ships, etc... I think there would be a great demand from some of these fellowships that specialize in those areas. ;-) Hope you consider it!

rednaz23: I have thought about that also - but the issue with that is since a fellowship can only have 1 random team, for example if there is an "all game" random tournament, my gammon cube fellowship probable would not get a random team together - but if there is a random gammon site tournament, players may already be another fellowships team. (another example, if there was a random boats tournament & a random gammon tournament - I would have to debate which fellowship team to join - a gammon fellowship or boat fellowship)
Anyway, point being it could be hard for some fellowships to get teams together - that is would be very hard to do more then 1 random tournament in the same "batch" of tournaments.... but spread apart to give time for players to switch fellowship teams - yup, great idea.
coan.net: Very good point, I never considered that! I like the idea too, I personally would love to play in a random line tourney. In fact, speaking about random line tournies...
Subjekt: how do I pay for a prize for a tournie....
I created? I have a tournie slated to start on December 14, 2007 and am having trouble figuring out how to pay for it and have it become the prize for the tournie. Can anyone help me with figuring this out?
Subjekt: Re: how do I pay for a prize for a tournie....
MadMonkey:
I have done that - just wish there had been a way to message fencer at the time I made the payment, I used the "paypal donate" button and did not notice a way to message during the process of paying. Might have been there and just did not notice - anything is possible with my brain LOL
- take-off is scheduling among 10. - 15. January 2008
1.) Be fee-paying full member and be laid games best from its country in ladders
2.) Defender title from last form
3.) Pawn only the, which win qualification on championship world
- for pawn will along of the year 2008 done 4 qualification from with qualifies only winner - qualification will always on January, April, July and in October
Subjekt: Tournament Tournament and yet more Tournaments
I haven't been making as many tournaments lately, and it seems like whenever I turn around someone will ask me if I'm still doing them. Well there are some more Fast Start - First 5 to sign start up right now to start over the next 5 days.
Great way to play games you might not be very good at without an expert ready to kill you in 3 moves.
Starts in about 1 month. Before the tournament starts, I will go through and try to remove anyone who is WAY over the 1500 limit since ratings can change between now & then.
coan.net 5 YEARS on BK Frog Finder - My 5 year anniversary on BrainKing. This does not start for another 2 months, but it is with my game (Frog Finder), and hopefully we can get a lot of people to join this.
This is a 128 player tournie (I assume it will start on the start date of December 14, 2007 even if there are not enough players by then to fill certain types of games) single elimination tournie with each match consisting of a single game (if I have misread any part of what is listed on the actual page for the tournie, will someone please let me know how it is actually set up?)
The good news is that I AM totally certain about the fact that the prize is for a 1 year Brain Rook.
májinka: I don't think you'll ever get 64 to play C6. The biggest C6 tournies I remember are a 30 and a 23... I think there was a bigger one that was limited to lower BKRers, but it wasn't at 64. I think you would be hard pressed to get 32 for something like this...
following tourney is set up correctly so that the ONE one year Brain Rook membership that I have provided as the prize will be awarded, please let me know. I want it run with the games I have listed but am not sure if it should have been set up random with those games or if it is currently set up correctly to give out one prize. I also need to know for certain if it MUST have 128 players before it starts or if it will start with less, if necessary. I meant for it to be set up with a maximum of 128 players per game.
get the prize tournament I set up set up correctly for one prize being given away. It will either be random between the games showing at this time or will be totally backgammon as that is what the most people have signed up for (majority rules in this case)
NO prize other than bragging rights should you be the final winner for one or more game type. I have created non-prize tourneys in the past so familiar with them, was not familiar with how to create a prize tourney when providing one prize. Very sorry for the confusion happening with the prize tourney I created - should be no such confusion on this one!
joshi tm: Well that's not fun! Would be great to be able to run 2 teams at a time! And what happens next time there is a team tourney. If you have had to leave players out this time and they go somewhere else just so they can get a game but the next tourney offers more places do you beg them to come back to you?? Is there some guarantee that these team tourneys will always have the same number of team players?
TarantinoFan: There is no guarantee, but it is a pretty safe bet that many of the "unpopular" games will have between 4-6 players, while the more popular games will most likely have between 7-10 players.
So Backgammon, Ludo, Frog Finger, Triple Dice Poker - mostly likely will always be around 8 (give or take a few)
Plus members can always leave and go back to a team after a tournament starts - for example, for Ludo my Private Den fellowship snatched 3 players from another fellowships team to enter the tournament... but I would guess (and welcome) then going back to their original team if they wanted.
- - - - - - - - -
It had been talked about before - possible letting fellowships enter multiple teams, but that might hurt some of the smaller fellowships - that is for example, my Gammon Cube fellowship easily had 25 players on the Backgammon team before the team tournaments started - if I would have been able to enter all of them in multiple teams, a few others fellowships may not have been able to gather teams.
So they can leave your team as soon as the tourney starts and go back to their old team to be able to paricipate in f/s challenge matches but their games for your team still continue? I thought that once you were in a game for a f/s you had to stay until the tournament/challenge ended?
If that is the case I will let my team know about it so that any that miss out can participate with another team in the team tourney but still come back to us if they wish to play with us in our f/s challenges.
I do understand your point about multiple teams though. When you think about it it might mean your own f/s playing your own f/s in the last section. And keeping it to one team allows more f/s a chance to participate.
TarantinoFan: Yes, once a team tournament starts - all games will continue until the end (all next rounds will start also) - even if the person leave the fellowship team.
I believe they have to stay on the team until it starts - but once it starts, it will let them leave to join any other fellowship team they want.
coan.net: Yup, that's right. I abandonned my Anti-Backgammon team for a while because of the big amount of members until the team tournament starts, then I return.
