I've created a couple "Fast Start - First 5" tournaments for Dameo, along with most of the other new games on this site.

Oh, quick rules for Dameo: This game (created by Christian Freeling) is one of the most modern Checkers variants. Pawns move forward or diagonally forward, either one space to a vacant square or jumping over a solid line of friendly pawns to a vacant space (linear movement). Promoted pieces (queens) move any number of spaces horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Capture moves are allowed only vertically and horizontally, and the capture rules are the same as in International Checkers.

Can ANYONE PLEASE do somethiing about all those overdue tournaments in the tourneylist?

joshi tm: I personally think 29 days over is WAY too much. 5 is usually plenty (maybe 10) - I mean if you don't get enough by that time, the tournament creator gets a message about it not starting and simple enough to change the date if needed.

I would love to see the option of +29 removed to public tournaments. Maybe a overdue limit of 29 for fellowship tournaments, but only a limit of 7 days (week) for public tournaments would be what I would like to see.

A little reminder, for those who can't dfind them due to those overdue's...

Maybe a "set" limit on how many a person can leave on there in the red might help? And I agree that a "countdown" once they go red, say five/ten days, is pretty sufficient

I really like the game Knight Fight, but could only find "small" tournaments - so I created a BIG tournament - which hopefully we can get many to sign up for it:

Match type: 3 points match with doubling cube
Tournament type: one match for each two players
Maximum number of players per section: 20
Final match type for two players section: 5 points match with doubling cube
Time control: Time: 3 days, Bonus: 3 hours, Limit: 9 days, no days off (red signed)

(That means after beginning you have 3 days (72 hours) for your first move. Per your another move, you'll have 3 hours bonus for your other move time. 9 days is limit time for the opponents, after the move of other side.)

I have an issue in the way tournament deadlines are set up. I used to se up lots of tournaments but have quit. the reason being I am tired of the way some people set up a deadline for sign ups then have this lengthy extension for more signups. I feel if you set a deadline that should be it. If not enough people sign up then too bad. I feel it is unfair for newer tournaments to be buried 2 or 3 pages down the line behind tournaments which have weeks of extension time beyond the deadline they set up. I looked for new tournaments and I had to get down at least halfway on to page 2 of the tournament list to find a newer one which deadline hadnt yet passed. I feel if Fencer does not change the way time deadlines are set up for tournaments it will make people less likely to sign up for tournaments. If you want extensions that is fine but lets make it more reasonable like 3-5 days past the set deadline. Thanks.

Brian1971: I agree - I think the current 30 days is too long (and the hacked 255 days is way too much, and that needs to be deleted now).

5 days extra is long enough. That is at that time, if the tournament creator needs more time, it is simple enough to just change the start date to allow more time.

But until Fencer does something about it, the small fix would be if you are looking for new tournaments - there is a filter above the tournaments to look for tournaments created in the last X days.

(but I and others all think that 30 days is way too much. 5 is perfect - maybe 7 the limit on public tournaments to give an extra week.... with maybe 30 for private fellowship tournaments. That would be my suggestion.)
