afella: Well, the former purpose of this rule was to generate an additional income for BrainKing itself. However, it is no longer necessary, so it could be increased to 100%.
America is #1: You are not allowed to post screenshots of our site to another public page. Moreover, it would be much more useful if you provide a tournament URL, I don't have time to decipher the images.
Nirvana: Another one who does not read the blog, not even the game news. The rules has been updated, a horizontal line is not taken as a winning combination.
Chaosu: Of course it is possible if you have a credit/debit card. Furthermore, beginning 14th September, you'll be eligible to have a full-featured PayPal account.
Retep: From rules: "Who loses all pieces including the king or cannot make a legal move, wins the game." However, this question belongs to the Chess Variants 8x8 board.
Subjekt: Re: Offering a prize money for a tournament
nabla: You don't need to use Brains for that. Just select the prize checkbox when you create the tournament and then use the standard Paid Membership page to pay for the prize. That's all.
I don't think there would be a problem with not enough players.
Subjekt: Re: Sponsored tournament with an entry fee
Walter Montego: Of course it is okay, such sponsored tournaments (without an entry fee) are already supported.
About gambling, I don't think any kind of gambling happens here because even if you pay Brains to participate in a tournament, you cannot win a real money. And to create an event with a prize is absolutely legal.
KotDB: The solution is to play tournaments with multi-win matches. 1-win match is almost equivalent to a normal game but draws are not counted to the result.
KotDB: Generally said, when you play in an elimination tournament, you should play to win, not to draw. Yes, it requires a more risky way of playing but that's just an attribute of this system.
Walter Montego: Simply said, when it's clear than one (and only one) player would have more points than anybody else, regardless of results of the unfinished games of the same section, he can be declared as the winner. In all other cases when S-B points could affect the final order, it's more complicated and it's safer to wait until everything is completed.
Walter Montego: It's easy to cover simple situations where one players wins all games in his sections - then nobody else can be the section winner. In other cases it can be a little more complicated, as you say, many "if this, than that". It's not the biggest priority to implement it now but I will think about it.
