Nothingness: I think you'll find the stratergy is that if you hit your oppnent then you will gain an extra man, therefore you have to way up the concequences of taking men off.
pedestrian: The usual way to cheat is to bring along your own dice that are fixed, you could also bribe Fencer with lots os cash so the dice always fall in your favour, but as your a pawn I guess thats out, so I reckon you'll have to rely on good old fashioned luck. LOL
Anjil: When I looked at the game it shows at the very top that you have 2 points and your opposition has only 1 and after 2 games that is correct as you got 2 pts for your win and they got 1 for their win.
Family Man: I think you've answered your own question, when he can't move you see what he has rolled but if he can move you are denined seeing the dice until he views the game.
Hrqls:It still depends on what is thrown but i find that if you have a back point then you are less likely to be blocked out and have to wait to be let back in.
pgtnot always true I have resigned games when my opponent waits till the final moment to move. This because the games if left to run there cause would finish next decade, LOL:
DragonKing: Yes the stratergies are very different. Though the dice will decide if you play an attacking game or defensive. Best way to find out is to play, you'll soon notice different ways to play.
grenv: It was for 1 point at the time but I knew I couldn't win so I resigned but didn't read the fine points so lost the match. But I learn't from my mistake
WhiteTower: This is so true I resigned a game it seems such a long time ago, but I inadverdently lost the whole match because I didn't read the message. I am a lot wiser now and haven't used the resign opption until after bearing off
alanback: When I used to play and money was at stake, this wouldn't have occured as they were increasing the amount they would lose. I see your point that it doesn't really matter on this site.
grenv: I think you misunderstand me. Situation score is 4:0 and in the next game I have my opponent on the bar and blocked with say 7 men still well away from his home board. I offer the double to him so as he can reject it and so finish the game quickly.
I'm curious as to what others might think. I understand it is termed dead cube, when one player is not allowed to double because they only require 1 more point to win. I believe this doesn't give the player the option of finishing the game early by offering the D/cube to opponent. IMHO I feel the cube was introduced to resolve the inevitable outcome of the game.
Fencer: This is very true, and it was my fault for not reading the warnings when I proposed to resign. What I didn't take into account was that my opposition would not be presented with the resignation and have the ability to reject or accept. I didn't realize that the computer had full responseability with the decision making.
