If I set up a prize tourney for my fellowship, how do I do the PayPal think to get it registered as a prize tourney? Is there a way to do it when I create it or does it go through Fencer?
Wooo hoooo! I finally had to use the save message feature. I typed a message and then after typing a lot, something on tv caught my eye. (basketball game) and then I came back to my message but thought I had sent it so I pressed main page!!! Yipes, I lost the message. never fear, I clicked "restore" and BINGO, there was my message.
Czuch Czuckers: word automatically saves and can be retrieved. I don't know about notepad.
Always save, save, save. That's a standard rule when using a computer. Save once, twice, often. When in doublt, save your work. When not in doubt, save your work. ;)
If you're talking about the notepad here on BK, I'll bet the answer is, Sorry Czuch. It's lost for life. :/
For those that haven't checked out the Black Rook Registry and are interested in purchasing the Black Rook at the 1/2 price, it's a good system. Many of us had to advertise or personally asked others in our search for a Black Rook partner. Now the BK system does it for you. If you plan to be around for at least 5 years, a Black Rook is a great investment.
A number of us have already takend advantage of the Black Rook special. What most of us did was to find someone else who was interested in paying for 1/2 of the black rook cost and we partnered up. Since this is the last opportunity for such a thing, those interested should find ways to find those willing to participate with them. I posted on GC and even wrote to people via PM. Good luck!
Fencer: With the exception of that problem, all the other Paypal procedures for payment seem to be working fine. Thanks for dealing with it. We can only hope Paypal gets on it as quickly ;)
Groucho: Ok, maybe this has been covered. Since I'm a black rook I can't take advantage of the brain bishop November deal. But I wonder if Black rooks can get some brains in exchange? ;) I could really use some brains.
Nice touch with PayPal. It's soooooo fast and so easy to use. And sponsoring is made easy. I love the bishop idea. Now if I can just find a few more pawns ;)
if people need help with scaling their pics so they don't stretch, a number of us can help with that. It may take cropping the pic but it's an easy operation. If you need help, PM me. ;)
BTW, my profile pic isn't scaled but that's by choice. hehe
Czuch Czuckers: It's his contest so I guess he can set up the rules anyway he wants ;) color me stupid, but I couldn't find the ads on my homepage! duh. I've since figured out where they are. Frankly it's like they aren't really there and I do have the option of not participating. ;)
playBunny: The point being made is that the potential for abuse is wide open with the current structure. I'm not trying to rain on your parade. I know you are at the top of the pawns but I don't have you in mind anyway. So relax. I frankly don't really care about how the paid membership side is structured, although I think a POPL there is wise also. But in BK we have had a history of multinics etc and abuse in the past and the current Action Point structure has at least one loophole I think needs to be reconsidered.
playBunny: Not at all. It doesn't affect me directly but I do think it's something to look at. Why do you object to a POPL? It seems reasonable to me since you play with other pawns anyway and the playing field would be leveled anyway.
A point limit per opponent would help to assure that an unscrupulous multinic couldn't win a membership or anything for that matter.
We'll find out soon enough if I'm all wet or on to something. I'm sure tomorrow other will chime in their thoughts. Or we'll get the notice. ;)
playBunny: Anything that has potential for abuse has to be looked at. I believe that the title of this "competition" was "Action Points" I think people have turned it into a competition on a level not intended. The original purpose was circumvented from the start. Even you raised objections to the original structure. I am just adding my two cents.
I think it is abuse when two players can spend all day making moves only against each other and gain the most points. I think people who would like to participate in this "competition" are effectively eliminated because they know that the only way to compete is to partner up with another and do the same. I can't help but believe this is not the original intent Fencer had. I think this loophole needs to be closed as well. Points earned from opponents should be limited per opponent. This way, more points can be earned by playing a multitude of opponents rather than two players playing only each other.
