I think it's great that you proactively follow it - I'd suggest that when you do, you let your opponent know. Something like: "Hi there. I'm not sure you're aware of this, but I was obliged to move one of my pieces since you were unable to move; this is a rule of the game that isn't enforced by the software. Just letting you know in case you find yourself in my situation in a future game." The wording of why you were obliged to move a piece could probably be improved to include whatever the actual rule says. |
