I got an idea for an opinion poll but I know i would leave some info out as an answer option and thought I would throw it out there for someone that is more in tune with the answers.
1.) what is the best 'new feature' applied to BK in the last year? i.e. opinion polls, multi sign up for ponds, hide oponents turn to move, etc,etc,etc.....
what is the best new game added to BK in the last year?
does the setting for parameters when creating a game work?... I remember something about this a few months back, and then it didn't work as I recall.... does it work now? I really don't care to start a game in waiting and then have unrated players or someone not in my BKR range accept them...

Hrqls:understandable to a point, if one plays for ____ and giggles, I didn't even concider 'most moves' or 'action points' ...guess I was looking at things one sided, like winning and improving ones 'BKR rating'... thanx for the feedback...
Editted to remove profanity . Sorry, even partly spelled words with ** is not acceptable on public boards.
...at what point does a player have too many 'started games' going that one loses the joy of the game playing experience? ...I know many are happy with as few as 4-5 games, and yet others prefer 100-150... but could someone explain the joy of 2700+ ...at this point it would seem to be a full time job, not fun and games... ...not to single anyone out, but the player's games I refer to has only hrs to make several hundred moves... seems they would have to be here around the clock for months on end... ...to each their own I suppose, but I find it hard to fathom the joys of such a task... maybe someon could enlighten me on this subject.... ...as always, thanx and happy gaming! :o)
BIG BAD WOLF: so, 10-12 years down the road these players are still on the list? ...doesn't make much sense, but if that's the reasoning behind it... I never thought of the last action link... made things much easier for my research, thanks... :o) ...here's just some quick facts I found... ...4,225 players have not moved since this date last year( leaving 26,202 that have) ...18,606 players have not made a move in 2006(leaving 11,821 that have) ...25,479 players have not moved in the last month( 4,948 have) ...26,499 have not moved in two weeks(3,928 have) ...and 26,745 have not mved in the last week( 3,682 have) ....what do these #'s mean, not much, but it answered my question of approximately how many serious gamers play here.... drawing the line at two weeks without playing, that leaves about 4,000 players that play on a regular basis.... :o) strange and useless info I know, but it could be helpful when setting time parameters(limits) for games...
why does the player list not ever get updated to the point that registered players, after having not moved in 3-4 years, get dropped from the list? ...out of the first 300 or so registered users, only 50 or so still play or played within the last 2 months... ...I think after a year or so, they should be dropped from the list, as they may never sign in and play, there are probably a million reasons why... ...one particular ID I know of is one I created, when I wanted to test a 10 game theory... I tested 10 games and quit playing... since I have forgotten the password and or the email address I used when creating it... I know it hasn't been played in 3+ years... and I have no desire to use anymore... ...these ID's (stagnant for a year or so) could be eliminated, or put into two lists( archived players, and active players)... ...I'm sure there are many such ID's as mentioned, and would be easier to see just how many serious players are here at BK... without inflating the #'s... ...any thoughts?...
... not that I think I deserve it, as I've only earned 7 points from moves, but I opened every available message I could and I have 823 points... most messages I couldn't even read as my language skills are limited to english and broken spanish :o) ... just to show there is a slight flaw with this theory of "board points"
whopper:ok, so I read it, play a few game moves, see more "new" messages, read them and get 6 every time I view a "new" message? seems fishy to me if someone hovers the discussion boards waiting for new messages... as many do waiting for an opponent to move...
02i: ..ok, so that threw that theory out the window, but I just got 6 points for reading vikings message, then went to main page, checked online opponents, saw a new message in my fav boards area(this one I am replying to, and got another 6 points... so as well as making available moves it looks like it pays to read every "new" message that hits the discussion boards... correct me if I'm wrong...
...nothing scientific here, but it seems all top action points winners at this point have gotten the bulk of their points from board points... ... the flaw with this is that someone that reads boards regularly is at a disadvantage, as they may only have say 10 "new" messages to read on the "brainking.com" board, and a user that never has read the board has 18,000+ "new" messages to read... thus creating a very large margin of points for such... ...is this a scam or cheating?... no, just a minor flaw in the tallying system for said "action Points"... ...I'm sure Fencer will fix this problem... ...just my two cents worth... as always, "happy Gaming!" >^.^<
Konu: Re: ???? have I missed something somewhere????
Fencer:
my mistake, please except my humble appology... I had no idea you were a one man army... I guess I assumed that since Brainking has grown so much in the past few years that you have had to recruit some help in it's upkeep and maintenance... again, I appologize... no offense intended...
while I'm at it though, I'd like to ask about the dice program... I posted on this a bit on 'feature request' back on March 5th or so... is fixing the dice program that tough of a task? ... if a legal move can be made, I think an opponent should be forced to make that move...
thanx, and looking forward to becoming a member of the Brainking family soon...
Konu: Re: ???? have I missed something somewhere????
Vikings:
planning on #2 option as soon as my membership on IYT is up next month... :o) ...with the hope that they fix the dice program here, where a player must play forced legal moves in 'gammon games...
Konu: Re: ???? have I missed something somewhere????
LionsLair:
WOW!! through further review I see that she has 325 games being played and her turn in 310 of those!... amazing she can find time for that many games... it must be sad to not have a life outside of her pc screen...
Konu: Re: ???? have I missed something somewhere????
Vikings:
... so while on vacation you can pick and choose which games to play or not?... my opponent last moved 4 days ago according to thier player profile....
.... I am in a game that is set up for 7 days, and my opponent has not moved in 6 weeks!... even with weekends added in it should have timed out in like 10 days or so.... has game time been suspended for some reason or another??
