I understand about wanting to discuss reversi cheating on the reversi board but the higher ups (Fencer) Has made it clear that he does not like pointing fingers in public or naming cheaters or suspected cheaters as it most often leads to arguements that turn pretty nasty. I don't know of any great way to handle all this so I have asked Sarok if he would help moderate this board since he is very proficient in the game as well as a very trusted player. I asked the global moderators before hand if we could ask him to help mod and they were all for it. He has agreed to help out since this really is HIS game. Volant and I play but I know I will never be more than a novice player at best.

I would really like it if folks got off the present topic. If you think someone is cheating then the best thing to do is stop playing them. I know that sounds really lame but at a turn based site it is hard to tell if a person is cheating unless they admit it. I played a few people on here that were using Zebra and once I found that out I stopped playing them. There is a player or two who will admit to using programs in reversi.
Or try playing 10x10 with someone. As far as I know Zebra cant be used on 10x10 board. (If I am wrong let me know)
If there are further posts on cheating I have to delete them and ask that you take them to private messages.

Chess master wrote me an apology message this evening. He felt bad and didnt realize he said that it was wrong to use an analizing program to help out in games. He said he wants the game between us deleted as well ( fencer can you do that please? Confirm with chessmaster1000 on this) I have offered up another game to chessmaster saying I want to play him without him using any programs, I will make it 10x10. I appreciate that he is trying to make amends for his actions!

I just would have liked the option to know he was using aprogram when we played. I didnt know until he had won an basically admitted it and then said I was good but he was better. Not amused. Some people take their chess seriously, I take my reversi very seriously. I am hoping that game is deleted from the records!

I was duped as were others who played him this week and I would like to see his wins taken away. I work hard at my reversi rating and I am not happy that a cheat program was used to kick my butt. Can't help that sorry.

And make sure someone suggests to Filip to please add in his list of rules that using programs to play is a form of cheating and therefore not allowed.
I don't wanna play anyone whos using a program I can tell u that.. why bother playing when you know a program is going to beat you?

macbann mentioned a book called "OTHELLO:BRIEF & BASIC" as a good self help book. Prob is I cant find it online anywhere to buy. Any one know where to get this book or perhaps another book that is simple to understand, not full of notation that is hard to figure out?

A manual ladder is going to be a lot of work in my opinion. Not that I dont want a ladder I think it would be awesome to have. I dont recall any one asking Fencer if this is on the development list. Has it been asked?

I would take a vote maybe..If you have it already set up with the 4 in the center then you have only one option to begin the game. The way you have it set up now you can begin play one of two ways and I am sure it had a huge difference in the outcome of a game.. I could be wrong but would like to hear from the experts as I am certainly not that.

I have always been told the two differences are.. Othello you start with 4 pieces in the middle of the board placed for you.. Reversi you must place them yourself which u get to choose one of two ways to start the game

that othello rules.. NOT reversi.. in reversi you have to start with none on the board.. Hope I am not over stepping my bounds by answering for him here
