This is a really cool game. It kind of reminds me of something but I cant figure out what it is ... kinda like chinese checkers, kinda like chess, Always enjoy a good statedgy game. Got game ? bring it on ... lol
I think there may just be a mistake in the rules, when describing the limitations. It says, "A tank cannot move to black squares (mines)" and, "Only the commander tank can move to red squares at the center of the board (contamined area)".
I think the word "to" should be replace for "through" in each of those constraints! Is that right?
Are there any given tank battle openings/tactics I am in the tournament and I haven't noticed any popular patters of play and games seem to either be open - tons of exchanges, or closed - piling up pieces waiting for the other to take first.
I won't bother working out the notation but I have seen that sometimes it pays to do a sneak attack up the wings while your opponent postures in the centre. Also, if you can get your commander tank, or whatever it is called, into the squares in the centre of the board it is not only safe but is a concealed threat.
HI! I am learning this game. It seems to be fun. Whoever wants to help me (and other beginners) with learning this game....there is new tournament called AUT DISCE AUT DISCEDE! Thank you all!
The rules state the following:
"Tanks can move any spaces vertically, horizontally or diagonally with these restrictions:
A tank cannot move to black squares (mines).
A tank cannot jump over the player's or opponent's tanks..."
This seems to imply that the following must also be true:
A tank can jump over black squares (mines).
A tank can move to squares occupied by the player's or opponent's tanks.
Later the rules specify that a tank is destroyed if an opposing tank enters its square. However, the movement diagram suggests that tanks cannot jump over mines or move to squares occupied by friendly tanks.
Okay .. perhaps you have identified a couple of areas where the rules may need some further clarification .. but to answer your questions ...
A tank cannot move to or over balck squares (mines).
It is true, the following stops (blocks) the movement of your tank - a friendly tank, a mine, the pink squares (unless it is the commander), or a enemy tank. Of these obstructions, you may only move to occupy the square of an enemy tank (unless it is the enemy commander in the pink squares).
Konu: i had a dream about this game last night o.o;;

I was playing against this girl I know and it was somewhat different than the way it really is. there was this moble fortress thing that went into a random square and only moved like the king in chess. it wasn't controlled by me or my opponent. it just moved after we took our turns. it couldn't be destroyed but it could destroy the normal tanks. it wasn't long though cause then me and the girl took a trip to new york and got married but thats a different subject o_o;;;; i have no idea why I started dreaming about braining, maybe i'm just addicted...
The current moderator of this board has been away for over 2 months, so we are currently looking for a new moderator of this board. Things to consider:
1) Need to be a knight or above
2) Need to have knowledge of the game / have played some/many games (not necessarly good at the game)
3) Need to be able to get along with people & be fair to all users.
If you are interested, please send Me a Message and a short note that you would like to moderate the Tank Battle board. (and if you want to add other reasons why you would make a good moderator - that is fine.)
In a few days, we will start to look at everyone who applied and decide who would be best suited for this position.
I read a discussion section from awhile back and was wondering: once a tank enters the enemy base is it inviolate, or can it still be captured by an enemy piece?
