Nirvana:  Oh, I have one better.  I have a friend in California (the one who bought David Gilmour tickets for us for my Christmas present), who WAS in a Pink Floyd tribute band.  He plays so much like Gilmour, I can close my eyes, and forget it's not him.  I have a whole CD of my friend's work, especially Numb, and Dogs.  Oh!  On Dogs, he's brilliant.

I bought my first Kate Bush tape in 1984.  It was pretty new, been out about a year.  Somehow, I got the idea she was married for a while to Peter Gabriel.   They appeared together a lot, and collaborated on a lot of music back then.  While I didn't find anything about that when I went looking to affirm, or dispute my recollection, I found out a couple of interesting things on Wikipedia.  I didn't know she had an affiliation with David Gilmour.  I quote from Wikipedia, "In March 1987, Bush sang "Running Up That Hill" at The Secret Policeman's Third Ball, with David Gilmour on guitar.....  In January 2002, Bush appeared with David Gilmour singing "Comfortably Numb" at Festival Hall In London, England."  OMG!  "Comfortably Numb" - only my favorite song - well one of them.

Just been listening to a great new album out.
It is by City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (does Fencer play for them ??? lol) and is called The Syphonic Jean Michel Jarre. It is quite something if you consider the computing power that Jarre uses when creating his music, to be done by an Orchestra.

A few weeks back Eddie Van Halen appeared on the Howard Stern Show and said he didn't rule out a reunion with David Lee Roth. I think we'd all like to see that, but if the guys are going to do it, it better be soon because I'm not sure how many people are going to care. Now before someone starts saying "I love them" or "it would be huge" let me say that I too would love to see a Classic VH reunion, but I think that time is not on this band's side at the moment. Its news to the die hard fans, but maybe not to the rest of the world The fact is, when Eddie made these comments it wasn't big news that hit all the papers. We've been teased with a Roth-VH reunion for years and everytime nothing comes of it. Anyway, I'll be watching to see what

Lovely, MadAprilHare.  And, thank you for the rose.  I just never caught her.  But, she has a beautiful voice, and the song is well worth a listen.

Maybe since I live in Texas - about as south as you can get, and the Snowshoe Hares live in Northern U.S. and Canada, I wasn't familiar with the animal either.  This is why we have the Internet - free exchange of wonderful music, culture, and critters.

Dylan and Baez:  Lovely, took me back a generation or two.  I wonder when that was made?  Anyone know?  That is one question, but it can be interchanged with, how do those people look so YOUNG?  Hahaha!  Thanks, Nirvana for that.

Angel:  I was around in the 70s, but evidently Angel didn't make it into my consciousness.  Interesting band, true.  Were they around for a while?  I got married in 1970, maybe I was busy.  Haha!  I got unmarried in '83, at which time I became busier.  Too bad about the end of the clip.  I wonder why people do that?  Is there a time limit on UTube?

Rare Earth:  They DID get through to me, I loved that song.  It's rare, in my experience anyway, for the drummer to sing.  At least the person who submitted the clip had the courtesy to fade it out rather than just cutting it off in mid-stream.

Jefferson Airplane:  White Rabbit:  my favorite song from one of my favorite bands of all time.   But then, Alice in Wonderland is also one of my favorite stories.  You know, I think most children of the 60s have "been there"...to Wonderland.  I still have visuals of the first live performance of that story I ever saw.  What a grand set, and the costumes were rich with color and texture.  I guess that makes the song come even more alive for me.

Jethro Tull:  What can be said?  Ian Anderson has certainly stayed in the forefront.  He does better on the U.K. charts of late than on the U.S. charts.  I love Aqualung, and Thick as a Brick.  I also commend him/them for their international interests.  They've sounded almost celtic at times in their history.  Did you know he has had two #1 hits on the U.S. Charts?  First was Thick as a Brick, and the other was A Passion Play.

Curved Air/BackStreetLuv:  Welcome, Mad March Hair - white rabbit as you portray yourself.  I believe I've heard of Curved Air, but it's been a while.  Interesting little file on Wikipedia.  If the tune branches out from there, I'd probably like it.  But, the pace at the beginning might get tedious over the time of a whole song.  Can you help me out here?

The Deep End with Nick Michaels is a program that not only gives voice to these great songs but also give context to them through the use of sound and narration. This program feels like it is taking you back to that time. Audiences respond to it the way you respond to running into that dear old friend. After a few minutes with that friend, it is as if no time has passed between you. A two-hour trip to a time when music mattered
There is no argument that the music of the late ‘60’s and early 70’s, what is most commonly called Classic Rock, is the most important music ever made to its listeners.

Most of these baby boomers have had a life-long love affair with their music and it does not look like it is going to die down soon.

Back before CD’s and digital music most of those albums were listened to on stereo record players.

All of those great albums contained an average of 10 to 12 songs per album. If you are old enough to remember then you will know that most people did not constantly lift and drop the needle onto their favorite album cuts. Every time you dropped the needle, you ran the risk of damaging the disk. Therefore most people put the needle down on an album side and let it play all the way through, thus becoming familiar with all the songs on the album. Most classic rock stations today will play only one or two songs from those albums leaving the majority of music on them un-played and unheard by the audience.

When you hear these songs again it is like running into a dear old friend you haven’t seen for 20 years. It is a treat. The reaction is almost always the same, a big smile.

The warmth of that feeling is what this show is all about.

Don’t think of it as a album of photographic memories, its not, this show is a time machine that actually takes you back to the feeling of the times. This is done through the use of the future tense for past events. It sounds as if we are back in time about to live it all again!
