Does anyone know why the number of new messages on the right side of my pages is shown in black instead of red?

It's sort of hard to notice them.

If you hover the smiley, some browsers show it's code. Or at least you can right click the image, and check it's properties - the name of the image is the code of the simley.

But it's on the smiley's table
