题目: Placement of submit move.
Would be nice if the option to submit move was at the top of the board that way when the page reloads you do not need to scroll down.

Fencer: Why would it look awful? After you have made your move there is nothing to do but submit your move anyways.

Well how about a "I feel lucky" option that submits the option without showing you the board after selecting.

1) select I feel lucky
2) select move to next game
3) select game piece to move
4) repeat 3 for next game...

Fencer: I have "Show move buttons directly below game boards", and almost the smallest font size in Firefox, and I still need to scroll down for most of the games I play. What am I doing wrong?

题目: Re: Placement of submit move.
Fencer: It's not at all complicated, but it's slow! If the submit button were above the Message and Notes boxes, then for the 99% of time when there are no notes and no messages, the submit button would be right there, and there would be no need to wait for the screen to refresh before the scroll took effect. (Maybe this is not a problem in first-world countries like the Czech Republic with good broadband facilities, but we are not all so lucky)

Fencer: A lot of us use laptops, so there is no mousewheel.

Is it possible to have a hotkey, like "Enter" as an addition to the "Submit Move" button, so you don't have to move your button, but we can still move by pressing Enter (or maybe spacebar)?

题目: Re: Placement of submit move.
emmett: I use a laptop too. And a press of spacebar scrolls down the page (at least on Opera). PageDown should do the trick too.
Rereading your post tells me I may have missunderstood. So, if what you want is to just press Enter when the page displays, without having to scroll down, then I guess all it takes is for Fencer to change the focus to the Submit Button when the page loads. Then, simply pressing Enter (or spacebar) would 'click' it. However, if implemented, I'd like this to be an option, since I like to use spacebar to scroll the page down...

Fencer: When on a small screen, it could happen that even with the smallest board size one has to scroll anyway, but I don't see how having the submit button on top would help ; then one would have to scroll in order to see the entire board.
What about a bloody Javascript keyboard shortcut to submit the move ?

nabla: With ludo even with my screen in portrait(which most people don't do ever) I still have to scroll to see the submit button. And I am only suggesting moving the submit button after you have already made your move. When 90% of the time you do not need to look at the board.

mctrivia: Oh yes you are right, I missed that there was no submit button until the move was finished. Then I also second the motion to move it at the top.

Fencer: I usually have my browser set at 70% zoom for BrainKing so I don't have to scroll down all the time. And I still need to in some games (like ludo and jarmo, for instance).

So you see, there is some scrolling...

题目: Re: Placement of submit move.
Fencer: Well, I have the settings to have the move button directly below the game board, except the thing isn't.

There's the game board, then the name of the game (in big letters), the name of the opponent with all his icons, the time of his last move, my name, the time of my last move, the offer draw tick box, a message box (which I never use) to leave a message for my opponent - with caption, a message box (which I also never use) to leave myself a note - again with caption, and only then, a full screen size later, is the move button.

I hate to think where that move button is if I untick the "show move button right below game board" box.

(*) Place submit button in aesthetically pleasing underneath the board
( ) Place submit button in practical above board position

mctrivia: I also would love to see a submit button option to appear above the game board - it would save time and make game-play a little quicker.

What I would like to see is an option in settings to have a "quick submit above board" option.

What that could do is place place the Move & Move and go to boxes above the board - with NO text box to write message.

But along with them also being at the top, keep them at the bottom like normal with the text box - so lets say we have the quick submit option to have them above the board, and we have a reason to write a message for this game, we can still scroll down and do that - but if not, we will know exactly where on the screen the move button will be - our mouse will already be positioned there while the page is loading since it is in the same exact place (rather then move - then wait for page to load - then scroll down - then find move button which could not be high or low on the screen depending on how much you scrolled - then finally hitting the move button.)

**edited to add: When I say above game board, I would like to see it right under the game title.

So on a page you would see "Game Type (show rules | discuss - xxx, xxx(x))"
"Submit"
"Submit and go to.."

Then under that, all the normal stuff - game chat, notes, opponenet info, game board, etc...
