Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board! If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.
I just had a thought. Its funny how many of us spend so much time on brainking (and other sites) we miss what is going on in the world around us. I have been at work an hour now, and was on my PC at home for a few hours before that. Now one of our customers has just told me about the plane crash in the Hudson river, that i had heard nothing about until now.
Hence my request, we have discussion boards for everything else (virtually) here, how about one for World News
I know we have General, but when you read some of the stuff that ends up on there, you just do not bother going there. Anyway, i think its a nice & useful idea to keep us in touch with the real world
MadMonkey: well - I will agree on your request for a discussion board about "world news" as soon as the chosen news really represent the "real world".
How do i mean that?
As an example, my now 7-year-old daughter does not want to catch the schoolbus for a while now. And why not? Cause she is linked to the "real world" by watching some news on a TV-channel every day - and no she is thinking that in the real world there is a bus-accident every day and - logically speaking - her schoolbus must have a daily accident, too...
Stopping my offtopic-opinion by telling all how angry I am on the people who are responsable to tell us what the real world is.
I just think it would be nice to stay up to date with things going on all about the world. When i am work i have brainking on all the time, and as i have to wait for the phone to ring or a driver to call in i rarely have the tv on and also as it is a work pc i can not modify Firefox the way mine is at home (with RSS reader and toolbar, so the news is always there).
It would be a common interest board (as in the Politics Board) for everyone
yes. of course you are right and it would be interesting to have all that discussed here. i just abused your thread to spread my opinion to the others... lol...
but in fact maybe some sophisticated game-players around here may enrich that new-born "news-section" with critical comments - so we do not just follow the mainnewsstream here... - i would, at least, read the comments of that discussion board even with more interest that watching the "real" news on TV... ;-)
