And as Dano suggested, it would be only fair in games like chess, tank battle etc, if you made identical moves where possible. There is no need to over-react to this situation. Fencer has explained how it happened and apologised, there is nothing more he can do. And nothing more we can do but get on with it and make the best of it. I've had to start one all over again! It wasn't an intentional thing to set all the games back and if there was any way around it then Fencer would have done it by now. This is still a new site that is growing and it will encounter problems along the way. But you won't find a better, friendlier site with owners that care as much. I just notice that tournament that I already started are now BACK in the tournament list waiting for players - and new tournaments that I created are gone! Seems like they had to do a restore of the database or something and a lot of "older" data got put back! The site seems to be running really good when you are able to get on - I had a problem getting on the site last night to play games (and with a new job that started today) - So I'll only be able to play during certain hours during the week - and if the server is down during that time... UGH! On webtv, we don't see the "site is temporarily down" page. Most of the time I get a webtv pop up saying "Brainking.com is to busy to use right now" But again, I too have noticed a definite improvement. It was not an easy piece of work and it needs to be finetuned. The application server restart is actually very fast - it takes only 5-10 seconds. But the overall site performance can be lower when the server is starting up. When it happens [the well-known "site is temporarily down" page], it usually helps to wait 10 seconds and reload the page. It works for me perfectly.

I have resigned a game many times when I knew I was going to lose. Not out of poor sportsman ship but to speed things along. Many players do that. He likly didnt mean to be rude at all. I don't see the need to complete a game especially a long game like 10x10 reversi if I know I have no chance of winning. I resign, say WTG gg or what ever and end the game to get on with other games or start new ones. I haven't been ablt to access this site since Tuesday afternoon australian time and it is now Friday evening :( I have ONE game waiting and when i click on it it gives me their (my opponents turn). I understand Fencer has been having problems as I emailed him direct and he so kindly explained it sort of. It is hard for someone like me when your times is limited to catch up on games....today I have now been playing 4 hours to get thru backed up games.
