I would like to be able to restric type of games a team captain can add me to on my profile by the following criteria. It should also red flag but not stop me from accepting games that don't meet this criteria.
*Only except games over X time limit but under Y time limit *Will not put my active game list over X games *Will not put my active game list over X games of that type *Aponents BKR is unrated *Vacation days allowed or not
Would alsobe nice of there was a pause tournaments so if an emergency comes up I can push that and if any tournaments I am signed up get to that date I am automatically removed from them before they start and team captains can not put me on a team.
Thema: Re: New Game: Limit on number of opponent's started games.
grenv: The number of games you have really has little bearing on how fast you play. I currently have 24 games going and can only make about 1 move per game per week do to internet problems and limitied time yet in the past I have played people with over 3000 games that made a move every day. I also very seldom find people that will play 20 moves a day. If we are both convienently online at the same time ocasionally you get that but usually you miss each other resulting in 1 or 2 moves a day on a game.
If you want fast games keep short time limits this puts you first on there play list.
grenv: Well then as one person requested ask someone to send them a message asking why they route it and that they have you blocked so you can't respond.
I think the warning message when trying to send someone a message on your block list should also ask you if you want to "unblock and send", "don't send message", "send anyways".
It was sugested that there be status messages like on MSN. If you do implement this could you implement a way that the autoplayer could set our status to either not online or to some special status mode while it is playing?
Harassed: Or it could just say watching x vs x game currently on the phone. That way you can be playing live game with someone but let people know it may take a little longer then normal to move.
MadMonkey: Would be good to let the big boss chose what powers the mini-boss and other membership levels have. Would be nice if I could set it so all members could invite people into the fellowship unless I had banned that member.
alanback: Maybe two dropdown lists of your normal option so you can set one to move to next game of this type. And the other to move and stay here or any other 2 combinations that you do all the time.
I would like a number to show up(in a different color then red) beside the names of my fellowship to tell me if some one wrote a message in one of the other boards. I know I can add the boards to my favorite list but this doesn't work if I don't notice a new board was created.
MadMonkey: yah i asked for this a while back also. The feature is not the easiest to find. Maybe fencer could make it a little easier to find say have it always visible with the note box and also have it in the settings page.
Thema: Re: Sign up for all tournaments of this group
pedrored: I would like a "I have no time any more" button. It should remove me from every team I have signed up with, every tornament, pond, and ladder that I have signed up for but is not currently running. Would be good for when you sign up for a whole bunch of tournaments and all of a sudden find yourself with 1000 games and 63 tornaments still on there way.
El Cid: The doubling the points lost is stuped the purpose of the points is to show if they can play not if they are good at realising when they are beet. As for a claim victory option in games like Spider Line 4 I always say good game to my oponent when I have them so they can't possibly win. If it is someone I play a lot of games I will then give them a list of every posible move I and they can make showing they have losts but I do that for those I am trying to teach only.
pauloaguia: I like that grouping also. It could also be made as an option in settings.
All existing users would default to traditional method and can change any time. All new users default to new method with option to try other method if they like in setup.
It would be nice if you could sort your games by time left/x but the value of x could be different for each game type.
So for example I could have
Ludo/100 Anti Chess/5 Spider Line 4/2 Chess/1
And all ludo games would pretty much be sorted to the top of the list, an anti-chess game with 10 days left would show up before a chess game with 3 days left but a spider line 4 game with 4 days left would still be after a chess game with 1 day left.
This would be usefull for letting you set the games you like to play more often (I.E. Ludo often requires little thought so I play it more often then say chess which requires tones of thought.)
It would also be good if you could set a threshold to which games always go to the botom of the list.
For example if I set the threshold at 32 hours then my chess game with 24 hours left would be placed before the ludo game with 98 days left.
grenv: there are meny strategys to battleboats but the bigest strategy is look up your oponents preivious games and try to find paterns. That is why he wants it.

Fencer: I always hated snakes and laters as a kid because I had no control over anything. Snakes and laters with auto pass would be really fun. You accept the game then see who wins.
Fencer: that is not enirely true. If you use java to refresh with a counter variable you can stop the count down. I am not sure of the exact code but I have seen it done.
grenv: you will not find any two languages that would be possoble to have different words fit. It is just not mathematically posible. Howevery you could have an accepted international dictionary that includes words from every language that uses the english alphabet. accents can be removed to allow languages like french fit.
Fencer is your to do list published any ware? If not could you publish it and put a link to it from this fellowship. That way we could look for what you are already planing to do before making Feature Requests. Also could you make a list of things like autopass that you will not do?
skipinnz: Still can't limit people that payed for the right to have no limits. There are a select few players on this site that are perfectly capable of playing on over 1000 games a day. If you want quick games put 1 day time limits. If you allow vacation days they will run out really quickly if they don't play every day and you have the option to not have days off.
Daniel Snyder: i got caugt once thinking it wasn't there but as Marfitalu pointed out the rules don't exclude it I just thought they did. I won't forget again
Marfitalu: True if the person is online at the time and playing the game is done extremely quickly. But in general if you shorten the time limit the game will finish faster.
As for fast movers I think in general the people at the top of the Most Active Users List are pretty quick players.
juls31: Look at your time limits on some of your games. Most of them are 7 days with some being 14 to 30 days. As for your tornement it is also 5 day limit with weekends so 1 move per week needed. Sign up for games with 3 days or less and they will go much faster.
Marfitalu: Why does everyone complain about slow players? If you have a problem with someone taking 5 days to make a move sign up for a game with a 3 day limit. This will put your games at the top of your oponents list causing them to play you more often.
People generally play within the time constraints and generally play the simple games and games with little time left first then the harder games and games with lost of time left later.
I know people with over 1000 games active and they don't play slowly. If you are playing a game with 1 day limit they will play every day and if you play with 1 week limit they will play every 4 to 7 days.
Conclusion the only reason you are fining slow players is you are playing games with to large a time limit.
I would like the feature that I could play my aponents moves and then my own and submit these moves to the server so if my apponent plays what I thought they would already know what move I want to make so my aponent does not have to wait for me to make that move. This is not like auto pass because I am still chosing what move I want to make I just can chose before hand.
Would be very usefull in games like anti-chess and line 4 were there are often times were there is only one good(or allowed) move for your oponent.
SafariGal: I said you would have fun trying to join.
There are also several benifits to becoming a paying member that are not listed. I give away a $19US box of chocolate tootsie roles every year to a member of my fellowship Chocolate Lovers United. You can help make Fencer rich(I don't think that is listed but it is a good goal. And you can brag over all your pawn friends that you can play more games then they can.
*This add was payed for by The Make Fencer Rich Foundation
KotDB: I also would like this feature. For now I use 3 win matches if I am worried about it. This removes the chance of a tie but the difference between who starts as white is minimalized.
headius: That is correct however since you can not chose which one you will be it makes it so that statistically black and white are equal in games like Backgammon. The degree of advantage diminishes based on the average number of moves it takes to win a game. For example the hpotherical game were you win at 4 points takes very few roles to win so whites advantage is great. Ludo usually takes over 40 moves so whites advantage is small.
Thema: Re: Move limitations and automatic for removing of tournaments
CryingLoser: But in a tournement with short time limits would get rid of the slow players that you don't care about and give you free points. I know you want to learn but the majority of people are not going to time out. I think the majority of players on here play before the time runs out they just sort there games by how much time is left so a 7 day game will be played last but a 1 day game may get played a lot more often.
Thema: Re: Move limitations and automatic for removing of tournaments
SafariGal: Wouldn't making a terniment or game with aproprietly short time limits do the exact same thing? There is an entire fellowship of people you can play that like to play quick.
Thema: Re: Move limitations and automatic for removing of tournaments
SafariGal: the problem with a rating like that is it does not take into consideration how long they have to make a move. If a player only plays games with 7day + limits because they know they are busy and can only play once a week they should still have a perfect score as long as they always play atleast once a week.
CryingLoser: That is a much beter sugestion of a feature. A simpler sulotion for #1 would be to allow each user to be able to chose there own max. This way if they are on a team the captain can't put them on more games if they reached there max. However that solution makes number 2 meaningless.
CryingLoser: Your argument is weak: using it someone can say he is "busy" in games where he expects a defeat and "not busy" in games where he sees a victory...
Your argumenty makes no sense. Mathematically you are beter off to play the game you will be defeated in faster and slow down the games you will win in. As for me being busy. It is not that uncommon for me to work 16+ hours straight when I am busy I will offten come online and play a game or 2 for a short break. It would not be fair to say that I could not play because I am busy. Just because I can't play all 10 games doesn't mean I can't play 1 or 2. I am on here for fun and I play my games as quickly as I can and usually have a few days spare before I will time out. The point is you can't say people who are on vacation are not allowed to play.
There is a very simple solution to your problem. Do not play games with long time limits or vacations. Stop trying to restric people when you can easily control who you play and the limits on the game.
grenv: That would make things worse. Besides I some times take a vacation day just because a project has come up and I am really busy. But if I hit a wall I can come online and play a game or 2 to get my mind off the problem then get back to work from a fresh outlook.
