Taking cover behind a large saguero cactus, I hoped Lester would be ok tid to a second one.
I dared to peer round but the only light was provided by a bright moon and it was difficult to see.
A sidewinder snake slid over my foot, making me jump. I froze in fear. I hate snakes grrrr!
The sidewinder was one of the biggest I had ever seen. To my horror it headed straiight towards Lester.
Lester began to pull at his rope, eyes wide, nostrils flaring. I pointed my rifle at the snake and shot. BANG! BANG! but missed as the sidewinder lived up to its name. Lester reared in terror, snorting.
A shot rang out and a bullet wizzed by, just missing my ear. I ducked behind the cactus once more.
