Bernice: My take on the mod thing (global or the presumed sub human level that I occupied for a brief time) is that it requires unquestioned devotion to the fearless leader,if not,it falls apart like dominos
Puckish: Hanukkah was a poor example, the only people who consider it a big event are non-Jews.I think people feel since it falls near Christmas it must be of parallel importance,it's not.
or2ak.com: Let me get this straight. You are saying we as players should not recieve an extra perk based on the principal of equality? Isn't that cutting off your ear to spite your nose?
Jim Dandy: Let me clarify (since a certain player seems concerned via pms of my posts intentions)I've always enjoyed your contributions to varios forums. If interviews cause interesting posters to back off that's not a good thing,I can understand how it can be disarming, maybe I just don't notice your posts these days
Czuch Czuckers: I've wondered about this for awhile. You seemed to be much more active on the boards pre-interview.Coincidance,or does it cause one to retreat?
Purple: I was going to say, much like it is bad form for cops to disagree and not show unity in public, the same credo can easily invade the global mod world.
It's a volunteer position, you're going to attract two types of people (and I've encountered both)One type is someone who just likes to help and be involved(the vast majority) the other tye is power tripping.
Eriisa: naw,but I was interested if it is requred for global mods to follow this stated order of procedure,or can they just bypass it without needing to be accountable and respectful of the moderators duties.Respect is a two way street
baddessi: I understand completely.I agree with that policy.I only regret that I posted at all,I seem to have ruined it for those wanting to discuss how they like their eggs cooked and yeast, they were allowed till I showed up
Fencer: I took it to be a clever marketing strategy that benefits both the buyer and seller. There is a degree of risk(that being the site is not guarenteed to be here in 10 years, hell,we might not inhabit this earth in ten years)but I was impressed by the creativity in presenting it as an option.
alanback: I feel that multiple game matches without the cube should award 2 points for a gammon and 3 for a backgammon. If the doubling cube is available it should be multiplied accordingly, just my opinion
playBunny: Thanks for the kind welcome.I feel like a kid in a candy store at this site but I'm not sure which item to tackle first.Ponds,Fellowships,Teams......i Know I'll enjoy them all
Hello everyone,I have just become a tax paying member in good standing(well, call it a figure of speech and I was interested in the concept of a team.Does one need to play a variety of other games or could I stick to only backgammon style games? I also have been too lazy to read the info on how to join the teams or ponds, could a giving soul give me a crash course? regards JD
