Board for everybody who is interested in BrainKing itself, its structure, features and future.
If you experience connection or speed problems with BrainKing, please visit Host Tracker and check "BrainKing.com" accessibility from various sites around the world. It may answer whether an issue is caused by BrainKing itself or your local network (or ISP provider).
NOT a floosie: Well, I think I can answer "Yes" to that question. Hanaslang was made by members of the Haná people (I used to be one of them, but opted not to continue working on it, as I had originally thought BK.hh would be just a translation of BrainKing into the Haná dialect), in part to make fun of themselves indeed. They did a very good job in my opinion and it sometimes really is a blast reading the Hanaslang. :)
MrWCF: Hanaslang is based on several dialects spoken in the eastern half of the Czech Republic, in particular on the one spoken in the region of Haná - hence the name. More than a serious localization, the purpose and goal of the Hanaslang version of BK was creating somewhat funny alternative to the original Czech version. :)
Roberto Silva: If anything is absurd, it's the very last paragraph of yours.
I would like you to tell me why should a person returning to a site under a new account after having been banned be banned again if they publicly admit that they are the same person and at the same time they make it clear that they are intending to obey the rules of the site. I just don't get it. You would be punishing the person for showing good manners, when they could easily keep creating new and new accounts and acting the same as before?
And I believe you should get used to the fact that "Roberto Silva" is nothing but an account here, as well as "Pedro Martínez", "bumble" or whoever else. If the site owner decides to ban me from here, he is banning "Pedro Martínez", not the real me. He blocks the access of "Pedro Martínez" to BrainKing, he doesn't come to my house and take my computer away. By the way, would you be willing to spend hours or days by considering the evidence on whether two accounts are indeed used by the same person? It is probably not the case of BK, but at some websites the site admin could possibly face a lawsuit if they ban someone without justified reasons.
The bottom line is: you DO ban accounts, not people.
(V): I couldn't care less about your opinion on me being informed over "matters." I asked you a simple question, you have failed to answer, instead you come up with some gibberish.
(V): What exactly is your problem with allowing accounts that cause no trouble at all to stay unbanned from this site? I mean if Jamie continues acting in the same manner as he did as LMINY, I am certain Fencer will ban him again. But from what I've read so far, he seems to have taken a lesson.
(V): Yes, LJ IS back on here and he does behave. You don't even know about him. Why would anyone want to ban him again? And the same applies to LMINY. As long as he does nothing wrong under his new account, as he claims not to intend to do anything like that, I see no reason to take any measures against him. Moreover, you can't expect Fencer to track and verify every account that might seem to belong to a person previously banned, can you?
Bernice: I believe it is the behavior of "accounts", not "people", what should be considered in terms of banning. If the person whose name cannot be mentioned here does not violate the BK rules under his new account, in my opinion there is no reason to ban him again.
MadMonkey: Yes, I am. Once a team reaches the required number of players, it is not shown among the "teams open to join" (or whatever it is called). And yes, I agree that "teams looking for players" would be more appropriate.
AbigailII: I believe Imsoaddicted is right about today being her last vacation day. Those game she timed out in were all no-days-off games, so vacation days don't apply to them.
alilsassy: Unless you specify who the "these people", "they", "some of my opponents" or "one in particular" are/is, you can't expect anyone to help you with this. However, I do understand your fear of being hidden or banned from this board because of mentioning names here.
beach: Well, I have noticed that 2 days have been added to all of my games. Maybe you should dig a little deeper in the list of your games to find those. :)
kleineme: Right, but I assumed that Czuch had wanted to download the files in order to replay the game in some pgn viewer. My bad, I shouldn't have assumed anything. :)
Snoopy: They could also see what you're doing wif they had you on their Enemies List. The Friends and Enemies lists work the same way in this respect.
Besides, there is a bug in the system which causes the following: if you have someone on your Enemies list, you cannot see what they're doing when you're in a game with such person, while they can see what you are doing. In simpler words, it's the opposite from the way it should be.
MrWCF: I've just found out that Jannssen's BKR was at 2100 already after the very first game he played. That was against Hrqls, who had played only 1 Cam game before that (he won against Robsaranga).
MrWCF: How did you come to that conclusion? You said the player in question had played four games against people whose ratings were 1341, 1094, "unrated" and "unrated". How do you know that those "unrated" ratings were actually not very high ratings? I mean even if you have an "unrated" rating, it is expressed in numbers in the BK system. For example, you have finished, to date, 2 Embassy Chess games. After a quick look at your profile, however, I can tell that your BKR is somewhere between 2298 and 2445, yet it is shown as "unrated".
"GERRY": User Agreement: "...Grievance Procedure…... Firstly, you must contact the Moderator concerned by PM in a calm manner with your complaint to try and sort the issue out.
