Board for everybody who is interested in BrainKing itself, its structure, features and future.
If you experience connection or speed problems with BrainKing, please visit Host Tracker and check "BrainKing.com" accessibility from various sites around the world. It may answer whether an issue is caused by BrainKing itself or your local network (or ISP provider).
puupia: Because I see a reason to do it. Ergo, it will stay there. You have always an option to upgrade your membership level and disable all advertisements.
Artful Dodger: I know that Internet Explorer is a very strange piece of software because sometimes it does not show any page at all and just gets frozen (not only with BrainKing but any other page I try). I hope that the version 8 will become more stable but until then, I really don't recommend to use this browser unless you have no other choice. Google Chrome is definitely the fastest one, at the moment.
BadBoy7: That's not true. I've made a speed test using an independent service and it proves that the connection is very fast from some places in USA, while it is significantly slower from other locations. Which means that the site is OK and the problem is with your ISP line to Europe or something like that.
Just to be more precise: Philadephia, Orlando or Washington show less than 1 second response (actually the average time is about half a second) and two other places seem to have a connectivity problem because their response times exceed 4 seconds. This is just an example, the test cannot cover all places around the world, of course.
This reply does not mean that nobody has a problem to get to BrainKing but it should be a recommendation to everyone who thinks that to blame BrainKing is always the right thing to do. Please don't do it (especially at public boards) if you cannot make a qualified evaluation of the situation. Thank you.
coan.net: Interesting. It is true that dragon causes some kind of increased load but I have tried it on several computers and none of them was using more than 35% of CPU. Furthermore, it happens only with Firefox and Internet Explorer, Opera works smoothly and shows no strange behavior, most likely because its JavaScript processor is not as buggy as the one of other browsers. Anyway, the code should not be loaded with other styles (except the castle one) and you can even turn off all animations, using a new switch "Enable style animations" at your Settings / General page.
Czuch: It's like a religion. You are supposed to obey, not to understand. Seriously - I want to make some changes in January, regarding this one and some other pawn restrictions.
rod03801: It is still instant but only when you pay with your PayPal balance or a credit card. You used the "eCheck" option (bank transfer) which usually takes up to 5 working days to clear.
I think all DNS servers should be already updated. Otherwise, they are not properly configured. In other words, all BrainKing domains should be mapped to the new server location.
coan.net: The current status is that it will probably happen during the last week of September. But since the exact day of the action is not confirmed yet, it is not officially announced yet.
