In one of my games I want to move a certain piece (a knight) but every time I try to click on it a message pops up on my Webtv that says "The item you have chosen contains a kind of information that can't be used". All of the other pieces work fine. Any other move I could make would be very bad. I'm not quite sure what to do.
for some types the amount of games is entirely inessential.
I actually do not pay for restrictions but for lacking of them.
and even your impression based on the view of chess is not complete.
in correspondance chess you have only 3 days per move,
but the reflection time cAn be accumulated, that is necessary to keep up the quality-difference to otb chess ... ~*~
PS indeed I prefer the 3days tourneys too and the best
gameplay in chess I acchieved when it didn't extend 30 games.
I think the timeconrol of the most tournements is with 5 or 7 day much to long.Best is 2 or 3 days!
By the way there are players with more than 100 games simultaneously, some have over 200 or 250 games!
Nobody can tell me that you can play good with so many games.
There should be a limit for the maximal number of games (100) beacause it is an impertinence for all opponents.
In addition it could help the overburdens server.
I like that the time is suspended because I had 4 games with 0 hours since I was unable to connect much yesterday.
BUT maybe something could be done differently - maybe instead of just turning off the time - add an extra (lets say 5 days) to each game. I know that this site can be hard to get on for a day or so, but if a player can't get on in 5 days (plus the regular time of the game), well ????
Not sure if that is possible - or even a good idea, just throwing something out there! :-)
and I also have a player that hasnt moved since 2nd July in a five in line tourney run by BRY...it is her number 11 five in line tourney and i notice a lot of players havent finished playing....why not just scrap it altogether....most would have timed out by now anyway
I have an opponent in a screen chess tourney who didn't play for 12 days now, since he knows that i am winning. It is my last game in that tourney and can not enter an other screen chess tourney as long as the time is suspended, while he is playing every day in all kind of games except in the game we are playing. A bit odd?
You can, for example, do it through Swreg by paying for 6-months Brain Knight membership [which is for $10 too]. Then I'll upgrade your membership to Brain Rook :-)
I signed up to be a member but I meant to be a Rook not a Knight. Can I just send the difference and become a Rook since I havent' been confirmed yet anyway?
I'm glad it is suspended. I would have timed out on several games due to no access. They suspended it because so many people are having difficulty. It is explained on the brainking info page.
Rose: I can make 100 moves (backgammon mainly) in an hour quite easily. I'm guessing that it depends on the speed of your internet connection (do you have broadband?).
I have not had one problem at all today trying to access the site. I guess it must be the time you try to access it etc.. I keep the site open nearly 11 hours a day and every time I went to make a move today I had no problem. I do think there are a lot of contributing factors with regards to a lot of people not having as much access as others. Maybe ISP, time of day, Speed of server at the time, # of people already trying to access the site.
As I say for the first time in nearly 8 days today was the first day I didn't get the can't access site page.
I never could figure out how any one could make more then 200 or 300 moves a day. People must sit at their systems for 10 hours straight just clicking away.. As I say I have the site open all day an I go to it during breaks in work, afternoon breaks, lunch, after supper etc and have never exceeded 180 moves per day since I became a member. I thought I was THE true addict. How people can play more then 300+ a day is surely beyond me!
I agree, it is impossible ... I have been trying for almost 36hrs. just to get on to play the games. It really sucks, and I hope they solve the problem soon.
HAHAHA good one Fencer LOL...but then I can't really talk either...I wondered why I couldnt go any further after i was eliminated from a tourney...but thanks to KEVIN...he made it possible :)
Yes, but the way it is currently set up, you cannot join a new tournament until all the games in your section finish. However, if you message Fencer (or maybe he'll read this), he can mark you as eliminated (as you have no chance to advance) and then you will be able to join another tournament.
for those of us that are havig trouble getting on here, and then after playing a few games, it say's it's too busy, we sure do appreciate the suspended time.
can anyone help me find my lost love, Her name is amber she is 20 almost 21 and she last known to be in Orion Michgan. please tell me what you know or tell her Jon still love her
Uil: Just to make some estimation, $10000. That would be a good start. Maybe two machines could be purchased for this price, to make the site more stable [server cluster, load balancing, ...].
Stop it Danoschek, I am not sure he will do this!
He has to believe in this site before he put any money into it. I know Jeroen Piket, a formally top chess player and now his right hand, so I can give it a try!!
I'm not sure ... Hamburg is internet-service capital of germany,
but I guess Frankfurt as center of the Telekom world
is better featured, most likely the dutch metropole also ...
not to mention 'Siemens' Munich ... hehehe !
have you investigated or are you just teasing back ? :P ~*~
