Hi, I joined the Backgammon 2300 plus! tournament because the Player rating requirement was 2300 <= BKR <= 4000 . This isn't the case as two of my opponents have a BKR of only 2200 . How did this happen and why?
JerNYC: We got up to 4 players but missed it by one. Is it just me or does it seem like nobody's signing up for tourneys anymore? I see certain games that used to fill up before you could blink sitting open now with either 1 player or no players.
this is your last chance If you haven't signed up yet and would like a shot at the 1 year RookFREE Prize, I'd encourage you to click the link as soon as possible so you don't miss the 3/17/14 midnight start window!
Tourney specifics are also in the above link for anyone wanting additional detail.
I hope to see you across the board for what looks to be a really good turnout this year. May the luck of the Irish be with you and cheers!
Undertaker.: Well at the time it seemed like we were getting a lot of running tournaments, so this batch I put the 14 days in between both - both another has also asked me about it - and myself, Site Team Tournaments are the only one's I play also, so I do enjoy them - so when I start to make the next batch, I'll go back to my normal 7-10 days between tournaments
I've added a few more site team tournaments, including a 21 point Hyper Backgammon one - Hyper Backgammon is a quick game, so playing to 21 points shouldn't take *super* long time to complete.
I try to shake it up with different games, so if you think I'm missing a game, let me know and I may give it a try.
Aganju: : The manual organizing a tournament like this one (all backgammon games, for grouped players limited with some restrictions) has many handicapes.
Sorry but here in BrainKing.com, we have not enough possibilities for our needs when need to create a tournament!
Thanks in advance for all type hints, specially for preferable and easy operable additions!
rod03801: First, only active players? Or inactive too? Only established BKRs? or provisional too? That leaves four combinations to pick from. Second, for me this page very often shows (incorrectly, of course) "Your current position is 1 of 1", which result in me having to do many clicks to even find my position.
TC: I checked that last time and I think I am outside those 10% in all games. I think you will run into the issue that a significant number of those 10% are not playing anymore just sitting there. But otherwise I like the idea. Here a hint how you can make it easier for potential participants: Obviously, because of your 10%-cutoff-point, the minimum rating needed is different for each game. You could list that minimum rating, so anyone can see right away if he falls into it. I found it rather tiresome to scroll through the full list to find out how many people are in total in the list, divide it by ten, and then find the rating of that position to see if I make it. If you do that once, you save everybody that work, and maybe get more players? Not me though...
