Tuesday: The response comes on the weekend as it is the man's responsibility to work and feed his family while the wife can do what she likes (during the week) ... or at least that is the way it is here in our civilised society :)
Thanks for the burgers Star, you are a star ... I'll just take them over to the boys now ... they are famished after spending a few days out in the cold ... amazing how warm a cave can be W:)
Fencer, please do not take this the wrong way ... but I really think this is the most important issue you need to consider, far more important than BK2, because BK2 will come and go but you need to work out where you and Liquid are going to earn a living, is that to be BK or your current 9-5 jobs.
If you do not know which market you are aiming for, or how to reach them, or what they want, then how can you design a financially sustainable site to meet their needs.
I posted this in pubic because I think others also need to realise that you have to first determine these questions and know here you are going before they can say "this site should only have board games, get rid of fellowships" or "it would be better to have more fun games and develop the community aspects, having the best-of-the-best here is not important". I beleive the two are not possible at the one site because they are completely different markets. A compromise, maybe, but you are the one who needs to determine if it will work.
As for time ... you have all the time you need until the food on your table depends on this site providing it.
I guess, Caissus, you have hit on the most important question facing Fencer ... IS this site to be a (purely) board games site or a site which caters for a number of forms of entertainment.
I would argue that, say, the QuizMasters Asylum quizzes are just as pertinent as the board games. And what of the discussion which sometimes goes on in the "HISTORY AND WARGAMES" fellowship which talks of strategies used in the greatest games of all, ones where real people die, is that not, too, relevant to board games.
Caissus, I know you have your point of view and refer to all the good players who come and do not stay for whatever reason. But is that the market which Fencer is trying to reach, keep, sustain, foster and eventually earn a living from ... I might wonder if such a narrow focus might not be financially unviable.
So Fencer, the task is yours ... what do you actually want this site to be? Who do you want to attract? Who do you want to keep? Who do you want to "lose"? And all this while you work on BK2!!!
