Someone (CurbYourEnthus) made 2 accounts - played 25 games of backgammon race, played the 3-4 moves to get a rating, and moved to the top of the rating list. Back in October, it was mentioned to Fencer - and Fencer banned all the accounts involved. I believe Fencer was going to remove this person from the ratings list, but either forgot or has not gotten to it yet.
do you think that the changes in games
"rythm", I describe below ,would add anything good for the backgammon race ?
here they are:
1. the is no need to collect all the men in my home area in order to bear them off. Player can start bearing them off anytime he wishes.
2. In order to bear of the player need to throw
exact number of pips ...
I am curious what is your opinion on that.

although it might be quite rude to send the pieces back to the bar .. maybe just dont allow that move .. but that might give away too much info when you know the dices ..
the dices need to be in the history, without the moves
while typing this i think i like the idea of being sent back to the bar ;)
I suggested something like this at some time... somewhere.
Basicly my thoughts are you can see your opponents dice, and that is about it.
Basicly played just like regular backgammon, with this additional rule:
If you move one (or more) of your pieces to a space which has 2 or more of your opponenets pieces, YOUR pieces get sent back to the bar. (Since you can't see your opponents pieces, this is a possibility)
I think it would be fun with regular backgammon, but I think it would be even more fun as Dark Backgammon Race.
it doesn't, Fencer announced it, I m sure the opponent is banned as well since it is his 2nd. nic. He said it is on the do do list, but must be low priority
the only time I speed as you call it is when I get double 5's or 6's early on, and then I rarely ever go past 13, as far as leaving uncovered players in the 7-12 spot, it depends where in the 13-18 spot my opponent is, of course I will sometimes try to goat him to take me with a single player, if I am set up to take him back no matter what, gainging a pip advantage. Then theres the question, How many players do I bear on before advancing? and also How do I adjust to my opponents style? No single right way but many wrong ones.
thanks, but there must be something more to it.
let's look at the first 12 points for the player.
I am never afraid of leaving blot on them. When hit I will easily recover but the opponent may lose much more points ... and how about speeding
with the first few moves to get beyond the 12th point and ruin someone's possible wall ?

but in the long game luck hits evenly both the players, so what counts is just skill ... could you share with the the third strategy ... I have some ideas, but would like to hear from you ...
Origami.
its acey-duecy without the luck of the opening doubles required. I have seen 3 basic strategies, one never works, one works only if you get good rolls, and the other works most of the time unless you come up against someone with the same startegy
gosh ... there is no limit to people's inventions. by the way, don't you think backagammon race requires more skill ?
This is a longer game and it's possible to recover out of bad luck ... they say, the longer the game (like Gin , CRibbage or Dominoes)the more chances are on the better player.

I am too simple to even understand this kind of situation. How is it possible ? You have your dice you have to follow ... I am not getting it.
Origami.
By looking at CurbYourEnthus results (25 games and 25 wins) I am comming into conclusion that it must be a game of skill. It is estimated that backagammon is 25 percent game of skill and 75 percent is luck factor. In Bakgammon Race this relation should be reversed, at least.
What is your opinion ?

The only time a person passes is on the first roll - and that is only if they lose the roll. (That is each player rolls 1 dice - high dice goes first, so if your opponenet gets the lowest dice, they have to "Pass" to you so you can start.)
How is it possible to pass a move? I didn't find a button for it. In game http://brainking.com/game/ShowGame?g=537998
my opponent passed on his first move, I have the same dice values and cannot pass?
Download gnubg and train against it. If you'd like it will also analyse your moves as you play them (tutor mode), or afterwards. And you can ask it for hints. You'll find it here:
http://www.gnubg.org
Make sure you set up a decent strength for the player and for the analysis. More info about that here:

I occasionally think that also, but I think it's just my eyes playing tricks on me. That is I also play backgammon on GoldToken which has your dice on the left side of the screen (instead of the right here), so I mess things up sometimes.
