Teema: God Module
The new CD from God Module "Viscera" is finished and will be released on October 11th on Metropolis Records in North America and Out of Line Music in Europe. "Viscera" features 10 new God Module tracks and a cover of The Cure track "A Night Like This". The new CD finds God Module falling even deeper into the darkness of the melodic sound they are known for. God Module recently also finished a remix for the upcoming Suicide Commando single. And will soon finish mixes for Imperative Reaction and Brudershaft. To celebrate the pending release of "Viscera" God Module will be playing 2 shows in Florida in September. In Ft. Lauderdale on the 4th with Terrorfakt and on the 17th in Ybor City with Grendel. In related news, "Night" the independent film written and directed by God Module member Byron C. Miller has secured worldwide distribution by Maxim Media International & Brain Damage Films. All of the sound was done by Jasyn Bangert and the soundtrack to the film features contributions from God Module, Grendel, Blutengel, Hocico, Negative Format, Parallel Project, System Syn and CombiChrist.

Bob Moog, inventor of the immensely popular Moog synthesizer has died yesterday at the age of 71 in Asheville, North Carolina, USA. Bob was diagnosed with brain cancer (glioblastoma multiforme or GBM) in late April 2005. He had received both radiation treatment and chemotherapy to help combat the disease. He is survived by his wife, Ileana, his five children, Laura Moog Lanier, Matthew Moog, Michelle Moog-Koussa, Renee Moog, and Miranda Richmond; and the mother of his children, Shirleigh Moog. Robert A. Moog, born May 23, 1934 was a pioneer of electronic music. The Moog synthesizer was one of the first widely used electronic musical instruments. Early developmental work on the components of the synthesizer occured at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center, now the Computer Music Center. Moog created the first modern, realtime playable and reconfigurable music synthesizer in 1963, it sometimes took hours to set up the machine for a new sound. Unlike the few other 1960s synthesizer manufacturers, Moog shipped a piano-style keyboard as the standard user interface to his synthesizers. The Minimoog became the most popular monophonic synthesizer of the 1970s, selling approximately 13,000 units between 1971 and 1982. Musicians that have used Moog equipment include Depeche Mode, Genesis, U2, The Police, and many others. The first record to feature a Moog synthesizer was "Cosmic Sounds" by The Zodiac. Popularity for the Moogs surged in the 1970s then declined in the 1980s as digital synthesizers gained traction in the market. By the mid-1990s, analog synthesizers were again highly sought after and prized for their classic sound. As of 2004, more than 15 companies are making Moog-style synthesizer modules. The Bob Moog Foundation has been created as a memorial, with the aim of continuing his life's work of developing electronic music.
