New A Different Drum signings A Blue Ocean Dream play melodic, analog-driven synthpop, pulling influences from the pioneering sounds of Kraftwerk, but adding vocal depth and a modern production touch. Their debut album "On the Road to Wisdom" presents heavy-set analogue synthesizers mixing with catchy electronic hooks and classic Swedish flavoured electro-pop. Reminiscent of contemporary acts such as Fischerspooner and The Hacker, but with a depth and maturity to the classic song-writing and arrangements.
The long-awaited and much overdue 5th regular studio album from Neuroactive is finally released at the end of August ! Neuroactive look back on a number of highly infectious and successful albums and singles on Cyberware, Out Of Line and A Different Drum and have been in existence for more than a decade, delivering finest Electro / Synthpop of the highest level ! This is a band that has transformed and experimented throughout the last decade, touching fans from the industrial dance scene to the synthpop scene, trying different vocal styles, but maintaining a punchy, signature sound with crisp, electronic programming. The all new album "N-Gin" continues that trend of exploration and metamorphosis, presenting several songs with different vocalists, along with some incredible instrumental tracks. This is a ground-breaking album for Neuroactive, building on all the sounds of the band's past, but pushing to a new level for the future. "N-Gin" is the first new album for Neuroactive since their critically acclaimed album "Transients", released in 2001, and expectations for this new album are very high. Fans of industrial, EBM, electro, synthpop, futurepop, and electronica can all find common ground with "N-Gin".
Nirvana: very good- I think it was off their very first Album as well...don't know the name of it other than Lynyrd Slynyrd..we always called it "Pronouced" one of my favorites, and a favorite of a friend of ours here. I thought she'd like my choice : )
Your turn Nirvana!!! : )
bwildman: thanks- you got some good Big-Mouthed Bass in that lake? Dan was kind of disappointed in the fishing on the Gulf- he likes to be a little more challenged.
Oh- this is a music board, and I believe it's my turn..
"Train roll on, on down the line...won't you please take me far away...."
Nirvana: Joni's always been one of my favorites. I got to see her when I was young at a small park with an outdoor ampetheatre(sp?)in suburban Chicago, Ravinia Park... she recorded 'Miles of Aisles' there : )
At last, Regenerator resurfaces with their anticipated 7th full-length CD. Entitled "Disease", the 13-track album expresses the band's concern for animal-rights and the environment focusing sharply on animal consumption and its affect on human health through the band's electronic trademark. Having listened to the unmastered album, I can already tell you that the title track will for sure please all fans of the good old The Cure late 80's era. Also included is the sombre video for "Terrible Love" and the old classic cover of "Don't Fear The Reaper". The limited edition of the album is packaged in a special DVD box, with exclusive artwork and bonus 12-track remixed album by bands like Steril, XP8, Neikka RPM, Y Luk-O, Winterstahl, Digital factor and others.
